Another Tuesday, another set of primaries. And while these may not be nearly as suspenseful now that President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have clinched their parties' respective nominations, there are still some races to keep an eye on — particularly the Illinois and Ohio congressional and supreme court races.
The key race in Ohio is the GOP Senate primary, in which the Trump-endorsed Bernie Moreno is squaring off against Frank LaRose and Matt Dolan. The current RCP Average has Moreno up by two points. This one could have a close finish.
Two more points to note: Florida's presidential primary is GOP only — the Florida Democrats already voted unanimously to place only Joe Biden on the primary ballot, so he was awarded all 224 Democratic delegates on March 6th. Additionally, California is hosting a special election to replace former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in that state's 20th Congressional District. Keep an eye on State Assemblymember Vince Fong (endorsed by McCarthy and Trump) and Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux.
Polls close at 7:00 pm Eastern in (parts of) Florida, then 7:30 pm Eastern in Ohio, with western Florida, Illinois, Kansas, and Arizona to follow. RedState will bring you the live results right here, so be sure to check in — and participate in the comments below.
