Tuesday is primary day in New Hampshire, and voters in the Granite State are already casting their votes in both the Republican and Democrat presidential primaries. While the polls don't close until 7:00 pm Eastern in most of the state, some polling places don't close until 8:00 pm Eastern.
And then there's Dixville Notch, the tiny hamlet in north-central New Hampshire that boasts a population of four, according to the 2020 census, but has six registered voters, all of whom traditionally cast their votes at midnight.
In a not-so-stunning turn of events, former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has swept the fun-size community, securing all six of its votes.
Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley won all six votes in Dixville Notch, N.H., which kicked off first-in-the-nation primary voting at midnight early Tuesday morning.
Of the six votes, four are registered Republicans and two are undeclared voters. The remaining voters in the Granite State will head to the polls later on Tuesday.
Haley celebrated the victory on social media, thanking the Dixville Notchians for their support.
A great start to a great day in New Hampshire. Thank you Dixville Notch! https://t.co/YcAv97OTdG

While the sample size doesn't lend itself to extrapolation for the rest of the state, one thing to note is how the denizens of Dixville Notch have voted in previous elections:
- In the 2016 primary, Bernie Sanders secured four votes on the Democrat side, while John Kasich secured three and Donald Trump two on the Republican side.
- In the 2016 general, Hillary Clinton won four votes, Donald Trump won two, and Gary Johnson and Mitt Romney each won one.
- In the 2020 primary, Michael Bloomberg secured two votes, while Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg each received one on the Democrat side, and Bloomberg received one write-in vote on the Republican side.
- In the 2020 general, Joe Biden received five votes, Donald Trump none.
Will Dixville Notch turn out to be a predictor for the rest of the state? We'll know soon enough. RedState will, of course, continue to provide full coverage of the primary, including live results Tuesday evening. Stay tuned!
