Moore to the Point - The World's Address

In keeping with my recent 80s music theme, another song wandered into my brain as I was reflecting on the rather dark tone of my previous commentary. I was actually trying to think of something a bit more upbeat and landed on They Might Be Giants. Consider these lyrics:

Everyone looks naked when you know the world’s address…The world’s address – a place that’s worn; a sad pun that reflects a sadder mess…

And then consider that song is 35 years old. I was just a kid in college at that point, yet even then, we were cynically musing on the nakedness of our leaders – of everyone really – and the sorry state of the world. It reminded me, once again, that there is nothing new under the Sun.

It does help to remember that – and that as criminal and sinful as the human condition may be, there is a higher power — One who holds it all in His hand. We may wearily and wryly observe and remark on the many failings of our leaders – and of our fellow humans, perceived enemies and allies alike. We have their number, and they have ours.

But the Good Lord has the world’s address and, thankfully, has provided a roadmap for us to find the way home.
