Moore to the Point - Forgive Us Our Betters

I’ve been vaguely aware of the World Economic Forum and Davos, Switzerland for probably a decade, if not longer. It’s not something I’ve paid particularly close attention to, as I’ll never be the sort to attend the forum, and likely will never make it to Davos, though I’m sure it’s lovely – like Aspen, only Alpine-y.

The WEF is billed as a non-governmental lobbying organization aimed at “improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.”

Basically, it’s a gathering of a couple thousand global elites who can readily afford the luxury of flying in on private jets to a swanky gathering from which they tut-tut at us “poors” for having the gall to drive gas-powered vehicles to cart around our multiple meat-eating offspring.

Front and center “representing” the US, of course, is special presidential envoy for climate John Forbes Kerry who wants you to know how extraordinary it is that this “select group of human beings,” touched by “whatever” (not the grace of God, mind you) can come together to discuss “saving the planet.” Bless their hearts. In fact, in Kerry’s view, it’s “almost extraterrestrial.”

Yeah. That’s one word for it…
