Two quarters of negative GDP growth – also known as contraction or shrinkage. That’s been the definition of a “recession” as long as I’ve been paying attention to economic speak (which is longer than I’d care to admit).

And that’s the news we got – not unexpectedly – Thursday morning, when second-quarter GDP clocked in at -.9 percent for the US.

But never fear! The Biden Administration is here to gaslight it all away.

The beauty of being able to redefine terms at whim is that you can constantly shift goalposts and absolve yourself of any accountability…while remaining free to claim credit for successes, of course – assuming there are any.

An open border is secure.

A biological male is a woman.

A mother is a birthing person.

A bungled military withdrawal is a smashing success.

An entrenched bureaucrat is “the science.”

An injection that offers “protection” rather than “immunity” is a vaccine.

Down is up, left is right, right is wrong – don’t bother keeping track, because we’re drowning in linguistic quicksand.

“Love means never having to say you’re sorry,” is a famous line from the movie “Love Story.” For this administration, it’s LIES that mean never having to say you’re sorry.

They may not be, but we sure are.
