With Portland's "protesters" said to be "furious" over President Donald Trump's authorization of a troop deployment to help quell the ongoing violence and notable presence of Antifa extremists at the city's ICE facility, it would seem to follow that the rioters would attempt to get creative in trying to thwart the feds at every turn.
Between their actions and the actions of Oregon's Democrat Attorney General, Dan Rayfield, in filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration on grounds that the POTUS "lacks authority" for the deployment, it would appear that the goal is to ramp up the Resistance™ to the extent that it gives federal law enforcement agents and Trump himself no other option but to fall back in frustration.
That is, of course, not going to happen, as one Portland agitator very recently found out.

As we previously reportedly, federal activity around the ICE building doesn't just involve ground forces, but also a response by air via Blackhawk helicopters and drones, the latter of which is something the agitator in question allegedly tried to counter with lasers:
FBI Portland & our federal partners @FPSDHS @HSISeattle searched a residence associated with a subject who is alleged to have aimed a laser at a @CBP helicopter conducting law enforcement activity in the skies over Portland, as well as another aircraft in the area on 9/27. pic.twitter.com/dqNUPgKaCM

But as it turned out, the suspect whom FBI Portland says was aiming lasers at CBP helicopters is... an illegal immigrant, according to their announcement.
As are three others who were also at the residence with the suspect.
All four are now in custody:
Agents made contact with the subject, as well as three other inhabitants who were at the residence. All four suspects are in the U.S. illegally, and were placed into the custody of @EROSeattle personnel.

Not only are they in custody, but they are also being processed for deportation, according to Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin.
The laser was also taken from the residence.
Here's a video of one of the helicopters. It's unclear if this was the one allegedly targeted by the suspect(s):
Just in — The FBI raided a home near the Portland ICE facility as part of an investigation involving an individual shining a high-powered laser at a military helicopter performing lawful duties.

Turns out the suspect was an illegal alien who is now in ICE custody.

Just as a reminder, lasers do and have caused serious injury to federal law enforcement officers:
Agents are assaulted w/laser weapons in #Portland every night.

These are deliberate acts of aggression against Agents who are guarding the federal courthouse. Violent extremists are ramping up the use of these & other weapons that are causing severe bodily harm to our Agents. pic.twitter.com/7tGzM3qEFG
In 2020, amid the George Floyd riots, numerous federal agents suffered eye injuries as a result of the use of lasers by Portland's leftist mobs:
The deputy director of the Department of Homeland Security says federal officers in Portland suffered 113 eye injuries while guarding a courthouse from activists armed with powerful lasers.
The usually green beams produce uncomfortable heat, unlike common small red pointers, Ken Cuccinelli said Tuesday at a Senate subcommittee hearing on the clashes in Oregon.
Lasers are also incredibly dangerous when pointed at aircraft, for reasons explained in this 2022 announcement on the indictment of four men in Georgia who were alleged to have done the same thing towards police helicopters in separate, unrelated incidents:
“Pointing lasers at an aircraft is extremely dangerous,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan. “A laser aimed at an aircraft blinds the pilot and makes it difficult if not impossible for the persons in the cockpit to read their instruments. Persons who are found pointing lasers at aircraft will be prosecuted.”
“When aimed at an aircraft, a beam of light from a handheld laser can illuminate a cockpit, disorienting and temporarily blinding the pilot or pilots of the craft, and in this case, preventing police from completing important public safety work,” said Keri Farley, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. “It's not a game. It's a federal felony that the FBI and our law enforcement partners take very seriously.”
According to local reports, the 200 Oregon National Guard troops could arrive in Portland as soon as Thursday. Please keep all those involved in trying to return the city to a peaceful and lawful state in your prayers.
Editor’s Note: Democrat politicians and their radical supporters will do everything they can to interfere with and threaten ICE agents enforcing our immigration laws.
