'Now It Can Be Told': Knives Come Out for Karine Jean-Pierre As the Dem Wagon-Circling Gets Underway

In news that came out of nowhere, we learned Wednesday that former Biden-Harris White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre not only will have a new book coming out in the fall, but that she is also no longer a Democrat.

As RedState reported, in the promotional write-up about her forthcoming book "Independent," Jean-Pierre's publisher claims that her leaving the Democrat Party wasn't an easy thing to do, especially considering she'd served under two Democrat presidents (Joe Biden and Barack Obama).

"In a country obsessed with blind loyalty to a two-party democratic system, Karine Jean-Pierre ... shares why Americans must step beyond party lines to embrace life as Independents," Hachette Book Group noted, while adding, "Jean-Pierre didn’t come to her decision to be an Independent lightly."

Reading between the lines, it looks like the book, which is said to cover the three weeks after the infamous June 2024 presidential debate, when Biden was put under intense pressure both publicly and privately to withdraw from the race, will be written through the lens of someone (KJP) who perhaps feels like her party leaders betrayed Biden by abandoning him.

Considering how many in BidenWorld have tried to cover their tracks since the release of "Original Sin" - including former press secretary Jen Psaki - this would make sense when one recalls how Jean-Pierre would go into full Baghdad Karine mode during press briefings in describing, for instance, how in her view Biden could run circles around people much younger than him.

That said, the announcement has had some on the left and in the MSM coming out and saying now what they were hesitant to when she was still in the White House:

There was also this, from Politico:

The attention-grabbing ploy lit up Democratic and Biden alumni texting groups and reignited frustrations that burned for years about Jean-Pierre, according to seven former Biden administration officials granted anonymity to describe private conversations.

One former official recalled that Jean-Pierre had joked about becoming an independent even while on the job in the Biden White House, an off-key comment for someone ostensibly serving as a major messenger for the Democratic Party. Another former official said that Jean-Pierre had begun working during the Biden administration with a New York-based publicist and had copied that person on official emails before some of Jean-Pierre’s White House colleagues intervened.

“Everyone thinks this is a grift,” the first former official said of Jean-Pierre’s book project.

Even Politico itself took swipes at Jean-Pierre, writing that her "halting, ineffectual briefings exasperated reporters."

Now, to be fair, there were murmurings during her time as White House press secretary about people who allegedly were trying to convince her to step down, but she reportedly had the confidence of Joe Biden and his handlers, which when you boil that down translates to they were satisfied with how she was handling her role in the cover-up, despite being bad at everything else she did.

Plus, even if they did have issues with her, because she ticked certain boxes meant in many ways that she was untouchable, something she seemingly knew considering how she acted on the way out the door.

In any event, the Democrats' finger-pointing and wagon-circling over the next several months is going to be interesting to watch play out. We, of course, will be on standby to document it, so make sure to buckle up and hold tight.
