What Jen Rubin's Hysterical Reaction to 'Didn't Close the Deal' CNN Segment Says About Kamala's Campaign

Townhall Media

As RedState reported, CNN's Wednesday night town hall featuring Vice President Kamala Harris was a disaster for the Democrat presidential nominee, with one of the most embarrassing moments being when moderator Anderson Cooper asked her "What do you do" if Roe v. Wade legislation couldn't be codified in the House and she mentioned taking "a look at the filibuster."

Another cringe moment was when she was asked by an audience member, "What weaknesses do you bring to the table?" After starting off with one of her infamous word salads, Harris told the man, between cackles, "So I may not be quick to have the answer as soon as you ask it about a specific policy issue sometimes because I'm going to want to research it. I'm going to want to study it. I'm kind of a nerd sometimes, I confess."

As we also documented, the reactions from CNN panelists across the board after the town hall concluded were telling, with complaining about how Harris was (again) short on specifics and long on those word salads and but Trumping. At one point, co-anchor Dana Bash said "Well, I’ll just tell you what I‘m hearing from people who I have been talking to and that is that if her goal was to close the deal, they‘re not sure she did that."

That... did not sit well with some Kamala Harris diehards including self-proclaimed "journalist" Aaron Rupar, who shared a video of Bash's comments along with this hot take:

Washington Post "conservative" NeverTrumper columnist Jennifer Rubin's reaction was perhaps even more illustrative. Look at the hysteria and desperation here:

Now, the reactions from David Axelrod and others on the CNN panel, you can tell they know Harris did poorly but believe she's got time to turn things around.

But for the Jen Rubins of this country - and there are a lot of them - they hate GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump so much that it blinds them to Kamala Harris' obvious flaws and the fact that this is just who she is and there is no changing that.

It's possible that they know it deep, deep down but don't want to admit it so they make up for it by acting as though there is some vast media conspiracy to undercut Harris' campaign - which is laughable considering the wildly partisan (left-wing) leanings of the MSM.

Whatever the case may be, there's no denying that there is a real panic on the Harris side of the race at this point, not just because early voting in states like North Carolina and Nevada has been bucking the "big Democrat turnout" trends we've seen in the past, but because Harris can't even go on Democrat-friendly networks like CNN and "seal the deal," bless her heart (and Jen Rubin's, too).
