It's a day ending in "y," which means it's a day in which Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) is continuing to expose and wreck Democrats as only he can.
When last we left you, Kennedy was reacting to the Biden administration's pathetic "do not retaliate" response to Iran's attacks on Israel. Kennedy said Joe Biden should do whatever he needed to do to grow a spine including, if necessary, going on Amazon to buy one, because this country needed to be standing with Israel and not trying to appease the "Hamas Caucus wing of the Democratic Party."

On Tuesday, the Senate Appropriations Committee, which Kennedy is on, held a hearing on Biden's 2025 budget request for the Dept. of Health and Human Services.
HHS Sec. Xavier Becerra was there to testify, and in his opening statement, he pointed to the Biden administration's oft-stated commitment to protecting "access to reproductive health care, including abortion and contraception care":
The Biden-Harris Administration has taken decisive action to protect access to reproductive health care, including abortion and contraception care. We are also fighting tooth and nail to stop the dismantling of the remaining rights and freedoms available to women across the country.
[...]
Access to reproductive health care, including contraception, is a more urgent issue now than it has been in decades. The budget provides $390 million, a 36 percent increase, to the Title X family planning program to meet the increased need for family planning services, which are essential to ensuring women have control over personal decisions about their own health, lives, and families.
Now, the Biden administration has admittedly been trying to do end runs around the landmark Supreme Court ruling from June 2022 that effectively overturned Roe v. Wade. So it was likely with that in mind along with Becerra's testimony right out of the gate on "reproductive rights" that had Kennedy loaded for bear, and ready to strike.
Becerra, as you will soon see, did not stand a chance. Watch as Kennedy grills him and asks him multiple times if he supports abortion up until birth. Becerra never gave a straight answer and instead played word games. Kennedy even had to remind him a couple of times that Roe v. Wade was overturned:
I asked Sec. Becerra 9 times whether he supported limiting abortions in the third trimester.

Why did he refuse to answer every time?
Because he and radical Democrats believe that a child—even a fully developed child—has no rights. pic.twitter.com/3zTeirCGeI
I asked Sec. Becerra if a healthy mother with a healthy baby boy should be able to have an abortion a week before he’s due because she’d prefer a baby girl.

As per the norm, Democrats are going to be using the abortion issue to try and scare voters ahead of the upcoming presidential election. Republicans need to take notes from Kennedy's questioning and be prepared to turn the "extremism" questions around on Democrats and their media allies who no doubt will be operating from the same playbook.
It's not "extreme" to want to protect an unborn life. It is extreme, however, to be okay with abortion up until birth under any circumstances, which is the Democrat "her body, her choice" position in a nutshell.
