As my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported earlier, President Joe Biden sat down for a so-called interview with "Late Night" host Seth Meyers on Monday, where as per the norm a Festival of Fail commenced a number of times, including when Biden bizarrely claimed he'd spent time "in the Tibetan mountains" with China President Xi Jinping, which... never happened.
Hilariously, Biden's deluded defenders were declaring the segment a "win" for the POTUS, as indicated, for instance, in this clip shared by White House Deputy Handler Press Secretary Andrew Bates, who obviously thought the five seconds Biden spent in what was a clearly staged "Dark Brandon" moment was a homerun:
.@sethmeyers: "Do you enjoy playing around with the Dark Brandon meme?"@POTUS: "No, I resent the hell out of it." [Puts on aviators and grins]

A studio audience full of (left-wing) Seth Meyers fans clapped for Joe Biden. Yep, that will be a total game-changer for Biden come election time. Sure.
On the Tuesday episode of "The View," all of the co-hosts were giddy over what they saw as a good media appearance for Biden. Joy Behar in particular was especially impressed, because Biden told a joke (lie) about former President Donald Trump forgetting his wife Melania's name, and - in Behar's view - looked "relaxed."
In the process, though, Behar accidentally explained why the interview was not the big "W" his sycophants portrayed it to be, for reasons I'll explain in a minute:
Whoopi Goldberg: "So, do you think this appearance will resonate with people?"
Joy Behar: "Yes. Look at the way [The View] audience reacted to it [more applause]. You know, Ronald Reagan famously used his sense of humor. He was only 73 in 1984 when he said, “Well, I'm not going to hold your age against you.” Remember that? Because the guy he was running against, Walter Mondale, was like 50-something and that was one of those things that put him over the top.
And also, you notice how relaxed Biden is here? Because when he's relaxed he doesn't stutter, he doesn't get nervous and the whole thing of his age goes out the window."
Watch:
Joy Behar thinks Biden's appearance with Seth Meyers will resonate with all Americans because his far-left audience laughed and clapped like trained seals.

First things first: Joy Behar, we knew Ronald Reagan, we know all about his presidency and his incredible legacy. Joe Biden is no Ronald Reagan.
But beyond that, notice how incredibly low the bar is being set here. Biden strings a couple of semi-coherent sentences together, cracks a couple of jokes including a pre-planned Dark Brandon one (I mean, come on, Biden had his sunglasses out before Seth Meyers even asked the question), looks "relaxed," and all of a sudden he's back in the game.
I mean when you set the bar that low - and Joe Biden's is almost quite literally on the floor, the only way you can go is up.
It kind of reminds me of a real-time "fact check" of sorts CNN's Daniel Dale once did during a Biden town hall in 2020. Dale claimed that because Biden was able to string a sentence together he was "implicitly fact checking Trump by...uttering many consecutive coherent sentences." I kid you not. Dale actually tweeted this:
Biden is implicitly fact checking Trump by...uttering many consecutive coherent sentences, which Trump has repeatedly said Biden cannot do. https://t.co/LzS2Bx7ioq

But back to Behar's comments about how when Biden wasn't nervous he didn't stutter and the age question supposedly disappeared. The problem with that is the presidency is a highly stressful job at all times and requires someone who can think quickly on their feet and not constantly get tripped up on (and forgetful of) their own words and actions. Further, it's not just the American people who are watching but leaders from around the world who are gauging the strengths and weaknesses of a president.
In other words, unless Joe Biden plans on spending the next four and a half years talking to and eating ice cream with Seth Meyers or another like-minded late-night liberal talk show host for a softball fireside chat, we're gonna see a lot more of that "nervous" Biden, with the forgetfulness, the confused moments, the handler interventions, Jill Biden stepping in for the rescue, and all the rest taking center stage every time Biden appears in public.
Let us game this out for the types of voters Behar is referencing:
"Hey, Biden sounded pretty good during that Seth Meyers interview, he even cracked some jokes!"
Days later, when reality sets in and Biden has embarrassed himself on a national stage once again:
"Dang, Biden sure did show his age there. Wow."
In other words, they'll be able to figure out pretty quickly, as even former aides to Barack Obama have, that Joe 2.0 is not actually a thing. Like at all.
