Watch: Sen. John Kennedy Gives Joe Biden a Roasting for the Ages After Dismal GDP Report

It’s officially official: The report issued Thursday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis shows the GDP shrunk 0.9 percent in the second quarter.

Coupled with the first quarter gross domestic product seeing a decrease of 1.6 percent, those two factors are classic economic indicators of what is commonly known a recession – unless you listen to supposed “economists” like the NY Times’s Paul Krugman, the Democrat apologists in the press, or virtually any member of the Biden administration including Joe Biden himself.

But no matter how they spin it, a recession is where we are. And as Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) explained during an epic roasting he gave Joe Biden during a “Fox and Friends” interview Thursday morning, what most Americans care about and see is “a slowing economy and rising prices,” regardless of how many self-important ideologically-driven economists and Biden administration officials “dance on the head of a pin” in insulting attempts at suggesting otherwise.

“I think the position of the administration is the definition of a recession is whatever is in the teleprompter,” Kennedy told the hosts in classic fashion when asked about Team Biden’s ongoing efforts at redefining the word. “And this farcical spectacle is kind of embarrassing. Most Americans don’t really care about this debate or how many economists can dance on the head of a pin. What they see as a slowing economy and rising prices. It’s called classic stagflation.”

“President Biden refuses to acknowledge it. He says, yes, but unemployment is low, unemployment is low,” Kennedy went on to say before explaining why unemployment numbers were low. “Well, there is a reason for that. People aren’t working. You don’t look at the unemployment number. You look at the labor force participation rate.”

Kennedy also noted that “we’ve had a lot of people retire, and we had a lot of people who refused to go back to work,” and that because of that, “they are now riding in the wagon, and everybody else has got to pull the wagon. And the bottom line is the economy sucks. And it’s not going to get any better.”

He also suggested that the recently announced Biden/Manchin/Schumer $670 billion deal that the media has been salivating over for the last 24 hours or so was not going to solve the problem.

“This new tax deal and Green New Deal announced by Senator Schumer and President Biden and Senator Manchin… You know, Joe is an intelligent guy. He knows this is nothing but a big money suck. And it is just going to get worse until Congress stops the spending,” Kennedy stated.

He went further by pinning the country’s economic problems not just on Biden but on the Democrats in the House and Senate and Republican enablers, giving “credit where credit is due.”

“And let me give credit where credit is due,” he said. “The inflation started with President Biden’s $1.92 trillion American Rescue Plan, but it has continued with all Democrats in the Senate and the help of, I don’t know, 15% of the Republicans who continue to vote to spend money that we don’t have.”
