We reported last Friday on how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) confirmed what Republicans alleged for months about why she held up an agreement between House Democrats and Senate Republicans on a coronavirus relief package.

To quickly recap, here’s the exact quote from when she was asked why she was now open to a scaled-down bill when she blocked one in the months leading up to the election (bolded emphasis added):

“It’s what we had on our bills. It’s for a shorter period of time but that’s OK now because we have a new president. A president that recognizes that we need to depend on science to stop the virus.”

In other words, she wanted to wait until after the election when presumably Joe Biden would be declared the winner of the presidential race.

Though, as I predicted, mainstream media reporters have moved on from Pelosi’s despicable admission (which they wouldn’t do if it had been a GOP leader who said what she did), Republican members of Congress who were in the trenches as relief bill talks were stalled time after time again by Pelosi have not.

One of them is Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), who took to the House floor today to deliver a blistering response to Pelosi’s comments, noting how so many people have suffered including her fellow Californians while she and other House Democrats literally played politics with their lives in hopes that it would help deliver a defeat to President Trump and a victory to Biden.

Not only that, but Crenshaw also made it a point to note how Pelosi and other California Democrats who mandated lockdowns that he said were not based on science were themselves not practicing what they preached.

Here’s a partial transcript:

“But we now have a full admission. She said the quiet part out loud. This was never about what was best for the American people, never about honest policy disagreement. It was about preventing President Trump from getting any credit. It was about politics.

Speaker Pelosi made a simple calculation: She bet that if she could keep Congress from reaching a deal on COVID relief, that it would hurt Trump and Republicans, and give her more power. Even when members of her own party asked her to bring common sense stand-alone bipartisan relief measures to the House floor that would easily become law, she refused.

She believed that nothing was better than something for her and her party. It’s hard to imagine a more awful and heartless strategy.

What’s worse, Speaker Pelosi does all of this while people in her home state suffer from unscientific, unconstitutional lockdowns that Democrat leaders in California are forcing upon their citizens. These lockdowns are not based in science, they never have been.

Study after study shows that they yield little if any benefits, but they impose extreme costs on the small businesses suffering under them.

You know what else? Democrat leaders making these executive orders – they know this, too, because they’re violating their own guidelines. The Speaker of the House couldn’t even let a pesky little lockdown get in the way of a haircut appointment. Even though those same lockdowns destroy the lives of her constituents.”

Crenshaw then stated that “everyone should have to watch” the heartbreaking video from the owner of the Pineapple Hill Saloon and Grill in Sherman Oaks, California, who was understandably livid after her outdoor patio was shut down while an outdoor dining area for a Hollywood movie production set was allowed to be set up 50 ft away from her restaurant.

Prior to his speech on the House floor, Crenshaw also called out Pelosi on both of his Twitter feeds for her reprehensible tactics:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: As far as I’m concerned, Pelosi should never be let off the hook for what she did. How many Americans lost their jobs and homes because of her deliberate actions? How many starved, gave up hope, committed suicide? These are questions that will never get asked of her by members of our esteemed press because the reasons why they’d be asked would again expose the left’s true motivations for the lockdowns, the stall tactics, all of it right from the start:

To defeat Trump – literally by any cold-hearted means necessary.
