Another Democrat politician has stepped forward to tell their story about how the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine helped save their life.

New York City Councilman Paul Vallone, who represents the 19th council district, told the New York Post in a recent interview that the drug long highlighted by President Trump as a treatment for the coronavirus “worked” for him:

Paul Vallone, who represents northeast Queens, took the drug along with a standard Z-pack — given for bacterial infections — and came back from the brink almost immediately.

“I couldn’t breathe, very weak, couldn’t get out of bed. My doctor prescribed it. My pharmacy had it. Took it that day and within two to three days I was able to breathe,” Vallone told The Post. “Within a week I was back on my feet.”

Hydroxychloroquine “worked for me.”

Vallone, the Post noted, said in a Twitter thread on April 1st that he had tested positive for the virus and was experiencing “mild, manageable symptoms” but that his situation was actually worse than he’d let on at the time because he suffers from sarcoidosis. WebMD describes sarcoidosis as an “inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs in the body, but mostly the lungs and lymph glands.”

The paper also reported that Vallone’s brother Peter, a Queens civil court judge, touted the drug’s effectiveness after the success his brother had with the treatment.

“I guess all those doctors who are prescribing it are right. This drug is already on the market and the patent is up so it’s cheap. A new drug won’t be. So big money does not want this drug to be used. Always follow the money,” Peter Vallone wrote on May 12th on Facebook.

Councilman Vallone gave credit to Trump for “offering hope” for people like him who had been diagnosed with the coronavirus and who were desperate to get well:

“At that time, there was only fear and panic, he offered hope in a possible treatment when there was none. With my sarcoidosis and then my COVID symptoms, It basically saved me. For that my family will always be thankful,“ he said.

As of this writing, the New York Post and the Washington Times are the only two national news outlets that have carried Vallone’s story. Strange.

Back in April, Michigan state representative Karen Whitsett (D) said after she started taking hydroxychloroquine that “it was less than two hours” before she began to feel relief. Her doctor prescribed her the drug after she and her husband both experienced symptoms similar to the ones associated with the Wuhan virus.

A few days later, it was confirmed she had the virus. Whitsett credited President Trump for touting the drug as a possible treatment.

The mainstream media, Democrats, Dr. Fauci, and other career bureaucrats at government agencies like the CDC and the FDA continue to grossly mislead the American people as to the effectiveness of this drug in helping some coronavirus patients battle the disease. To describe their actions at this point on HCQ as “shameful” would be a major understatement.

You can learn more about HCQ’s effectiveness and and how and why there’s been so much misinformation spread about its benefits here.
