As he often does, President Trump took to the Twitter machine this morning to express various opinions on what’s happening in the country, and made it a point to note what he thought about the “Black Lives Matter” sign that New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is going to have painted on Fifth Avenue in front of Trump Tower.
Trump noted that in doing so, de Blasio – who already has a very strained relationship with the NYPD, “will further antagonize New York’s Finest, who LOVE New York & vividly remember the horrible BLM chant, ‘Pigs In A Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon.'” He went on to call the BLM sign a “symbol of hate”:
….horrible BLM chant, “Pigs In A Blanket, Fry ‘Em Like Bacon”. Maybe our GREAT Police, who have been neutralized and scorned by a mayor who hates & disrespects them, won’t let this symbol of hate be affixed to New York’s greatest street. Spend this money fighting crime instead!

Scores of media outlets rushed to report on the President’s tweets, with many “reports” strongly insinuating that it confirmed their unstated belief that Trump really doesn’t believe black lives matter after all.
As my RedState colleague Bonchie has previously pointed out, however, there is a big – YUGE – difference in saying you believe black lives matter and saying you support the radical left-wing Black Lives Matter organization.
This was a key distinction White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany made today during the daily press briefing after being asked by a very concerned Jon Karl as to why Trump referred to Black Lives Matter as a “symbol of hate”:
“All black lives do matter, he agrees with that sentiment,” McEnany said. “But what he doesn’t agree with is an organization that chants ‘pigs in a blanket fry ’em like bacon’ about our police officers, our valiant heroes, who are out on the street protecting us each and every day.”
Karl followed up: “Americans of all races have protested in all 50 states around that phrase — Black Lives Matter — and the president is here calling it a symbol of hate.”
“He’s talking about the organization,” McEnany said. Karl pushed back, noting Trump did not call out the organization in his tweet, but instead referred to the term itself as a symbol of hate.”
Except he did refer to the organization by the fact that he capitalized the letters B, L, and M. That’s typically how it’s distinguished, though the mainstream media lumps “blm” and “BLM” together as though they mean the same thing (they don’t).
As Karl continued to press McEnany by telling a lie about how Trump never referred to the organization, she asked him to say the name of the organization one more time. When he said “Black Lives Matter”, she mic dropped him by saying “there you go, you’ve answered my question” before moving on to the next reporter.

Activist journalist Yamiche Alcindor from PBS was most displeased with McEnany’s answer, and also lied twice in saying Trump did not make the distinction (which he, in fact, did)
.@PressSec: Pres Trump agrees "all black lives matter." But he doesn't agree with chanting pigs in a blanket. He sees the organization, Black Lives Matter, as a symbol of hate.
Note: Trump didn't make any distinctions. He tweeted the words Black Lives Matter is a symbol of hate.

I asked. @jonkarl asked. Why is Pres Trump saying the words Black Lives Matter are a symbol of hate?@PressSec said Trump meant the organization of Black Lives Matter is a symbol of hate. But the president did not make that distinction and instead denounced the phrase.

What Alcindor and Karl and other gaslighting “reporters” are really upset about here is that the White House is finally, at long last, pointing out the difference in “blm” versus “BLM.” The more they make that distinction, the more it will make sense to people why they are reluctant and resistant to working with any of the hateful admittedly Marxist leaders in the national group as well as the “leaders” in many of the state-level chapters.
As far as I’m concerned, Republicans can’t make the distinction between “blm” and “BLM” often enough, because the purposeful line-blurring by the mainstream media and Democrats when it comes to supporting black lives versus supporting Black Lives Matter has gone on long enough.
