It was rather amusing to hear what Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a prominent Bernie Sanders backer, had to say about Sanders’ Michigan primary loss in an interview she did with Fox News’ Bret Baier on Thursday.

After noting younger voters did not turn out in full force for Sanders in Michigan and overall, Baier asked Ocasio-Cortez “how can you say the progressive position is still prevailing nationwide when Joe Biden is winning so much?”

Here’s how she responded:

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Well, I think one thing that we — that isn’t being talked about is the rampant voter suppression in this country. Right there, in Ann Arbor, where we had that rally, those kids were waiting three hours in line to vote in Michigan. And so when we talk about who’s turning out and who’s not turning out, we absolutely —

BAIER: So, just to be clear, you’re saying that you think voters didn’t get to vote that wanted to vote in Michigan?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Absolutely. You know, obviously there’s also more that we need to do in terms of turning out youth voters. It’s — we need to make sure that we’re inspiring young people to turn out, but when you do turn out, you should not be waiting three, four, seven hours in order to vote. And that causes people to leave.

Watch:

AOC is, of course, just flat out wrong here.

First off, Joe Biden did not just “win” the Michigan primary on Super Tuesday 2.0. Biden dominated over Sanders. Biden had 838,564 votes (52.9%) to Sanders’ 576,916 votes (36.4%). Biden also won 72 delegates to Sanders’ 52.

Secondly, according to the Detroit Free Press, “the nearly 1.6 million Democratic ballots cast on Tuesday set a record.”

Lastly, standing in line and then getting out of line because you’re tired of waiting is not “voter suppression” no matter how much AOC and the “woke” members of her party want to redefine the term.

I’ve got three words for AOC. Just three words: Get. a. clue.
