After learning over the weekend that a CPAC attendee tested positive for the Wuhan coronavirus, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) are among several politicians currently self-quarantining, as my RedState colleague Nick Arama reported Monday.
Of his time with the diagnosed individual, Cruz said his “interaction consisted of a brief conversation and a handshake” but that he was not feeling any symptoms, fortunately. Gosar stated he “was with this individual for an extended period of time, and we shook hands several times”, but that he and his staff, thankfully, are so far “asymptomatic.”
Like Cruz, Gosar has not let fears over the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus slow him down.
Just last night, Gosar took to the Twitter machine to share his thoughts on his current situation:
Been thinking about life and mortality today. I’d rather die gloriously in battle than from a virus. In a way it doesn’t matter. But it kinda does. pic.twitter.com/m6vU5RTQHJ

It’s understandable that someone concerned that they may have caught the Wuhan coronavirus would be thinking about their mortality and what the future holds, which could be vastly different than how they originally envisioned it, right?
It’s also understandable that his colleagues in Washington, DC would wish him well and send thoughts and prayers his way that neither he nor his staff were infected, right?
To normal, decent people, yes. But not to petty, vindictive, “burn it all down” types like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who took the opportunity to dunk on Gosar in the midst of his self-quarantine:
If it helps at all Rep. Gosar, you get roasted in committee almost every week so that’s kind of the same thing https://t.co/FgNrT5MqzV
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) March 10, 2020
The woman who doesn’t even know what a garbage disposal is is actually boasting about someone else allegedly getting “roasted” during committee hearings? That’s rich:
We get to see the committee hearings, and you probably need to delete this tweet

How'd the candidates you endorsed do last week?
How does it feel to be utterly irrelevant?https://t.co/Ti7WGCoHYh
— BonkPolitics (@BonkPolitics) March 10, 2020
That’s a point Gosar also made in his response to AOC:
The only thing getting roasted are the candidates you endorse. Spit roasted at that. https://t.co/Wbn0yP9jDp

What helps is knowing your precious Bernie is gonna lose and your seat is gonna be redistricted.

Also, has AOC ever tried adulting?
This is exactly the kind of petty sniping one would expect from the head of the Homecoming Dance decorating committee, not a US rep

And finally, the MOAB is dropped:
Did someone say roasted? #AOC #COVID19 pic.twitter.com/wJmM8xXifK

Boom.
But seriously – what kind of depraved person even does this sort of thing? Here you’ve got a guy wondering about whether or not he’s got the Wuhan virus saying that’s not how he wants to go out, and then you’ve got someone like AOC who erupts when someone comments on her fashion choices trying to “roast” the guy – as though she hasn’t been roasted a gabillion times, including by way of self-owns.
Girl, please.
