With Democratic movers and shakers sending Code Red signals about the rise of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2020 Democratic presidential polls, what’s a Never Trumper like Jennifer Rubin to do? Join them, that’s what.
On Monday, Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Epstein tweeted out the newest Quinnipiac poll results, the details of which my RedState colleague Streiff wrote about last night. The study showed Bernie now leading the struggling Joe Biden nationally for the first time in their national polls:
For the first time, Sanders leads Biden in a national Quinnipiac poll. Previous poll was conducted right before Iowa and released Jan. 28.
Sanders 25% (+4)
Biden 17% (-9)
Bloomberg 15% (+7)
Warren 14% (-1)
Buttigieg 10% (+4)
Klobuchar 4% (-3)— Jennifer Epstein (@jeneps) February 10, 2020
That prompted the Washington Post’s “conservative” columnist to wonder which “moderate” Democratic candidate for president would be the one to stop Berniementum:
So whoβs the moderate to stop Bernie?

That Never Trumpers are doing their part to meddle in the Democratic primaries is not exactly breaking news, but it’s particularly ironic when you consider the pretense they used to form their anti-Trump coalition in the first place (hint: truuuuuuue conservatism and anybody but Trump and stuff!).
Twitter users on the left and right were more than happy to remind her of that and a few other things:
That feeling when you leave the GOP over your so-called conservative principles for the party about to nominate a socialist

They'd need to get a moderate.

Have you tried not saying anything?

Youβre done kid. You hold zero sway over the democratic base, your time is up. Bye.

Thank you for protecting the Democratic Party from being hijacked by people who aren't in it, Jennifer Rubin of the Washington Post.

Translation to Rubin: You might wanna sit this one out, hon.
