A surefire way to enrage a Democrat is to remind them of their hypocrisy and duplicity, especially when you can point to their own words or words of their fellow members as proof.
Such was the case on Wednesday when House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) gave a speech on the House floor during the impeachment debate in which he noted the outcome of the impeachment inquiry and sham “investigation” process was preordained by Democrats who have called for President Trump’s ouster from day one.
In particular, McCarthy took aim at Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who famously said back in January in front of a crowd of supporters that “We’re gonna impeach the mother f****r!”
In January — soon after all four Squad members took office following their elections in November 2018, and months before the July 25 phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that kicked off the House impeachment inquiry this fall — Tlaib said on camera at a Capitol Hill reception celebrating the new Congress that “We’re going to go in there and we’re going to impeach the motherf—er,” referring to Trump.
Before getting to Tlaib, McCarthy pointed out Democrats were not going to let anything get in the way of impeaching Trump, “certainly not the truth”:
“A fair process would have exposed to the American public what many already knew: Democrats have wanted to impeach President Trump since the day he was elected, and nothing was gonna get in the way, certainly not the truth. Madam Speaker, Chairman Schiff said he had evidence, more than circumstantial, of collusion. That was false. In January, where we all stood in this body, we stood up, we raised our hands, we swore that we’d uphold the Constitution.”
[short pause as applause can be heard]
“And a few mere hours after that, Congresswoman Tlaib said she was gonna to ‘impeach the mother f***er.”
It was at that point you could hear Omar in the background trying to defend her fellow Squad member by yelling “stop it” several times as McCarthy stated “Those were not my words.”
Watch (and turn up the sound):
Video: Stopping himself for a few moments during his floor speech, @GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy calls out House Dems like Rashida Tlaib & Jamie Raskin for having long wanted President Trump impeached in what's become the "most partisan & least credible impeachment" in our history pic.twitter.com/kJmOoqN6iv

That it was Omar telling McCarthy to “stop it” was confirmed by other journalists:
Wow.
Our @DanielBush reports from the chamber (I'm at a live shot nearby) that Rep. Omar (@IlhanMN ) yelled "stop it" mutliple times as @GOPLeader McCarthy talking about Rep. Tlaib's M-er-f-er quote.
As Dan wrote, "tensions high".

@GOPLeader brings up how @RashidaTlaib said to “impeach that mother-effer” about President Trump last year.
Lots of boos and oos, @IlhanMN yelling “Stop it!” a few times.

What was the matter with McCarthy bringing this up? Especially when you consider Tlaib made a video boasting of her dream coming true as she walked to the House floor to get ready to vote on the impeachment articles. So what’s the big deal with noting Tlaib was part of the mob of House Democrats who were gonna act first and ask questions later when it came to impeaching Trump?
The fact that her words helped prove McCarthy’s point, and the points other Republicans on the House floor made yesterday: That this was a sham process from the start with a predetermined outcome that Democrats have long planned. For Omar, apparently the truth hurts.
