3 Years of Media 'Bombshells': Video Montage Shows Why Many Americans Have Tuned out Impeachment Hearings

We are full steam ahead into day five of the public impeachment inquiry theatrics hearings taking place on Capitol Hill, and the way the mainstream media has breathlessly reported on the various testimonies, you’d think that everything was a “bombshell” indictment of President Trump and even VP Pence, and that Americans were glued to their TVs and smartphones in record numbers to watch the goings on.

Unfortunately for Democrats and their national press allies, the ratings for the hearings are low as many people have simply tuned them out:

There are about 330 million Americans. According to the ratings, nearly 320 million of them aren’t watching the House impeachment proceedings against President Trump.
[…]
Tuesday’s morning session averaged 11.4 million viewers across the three big cable news stations and ABC, CBS and NBC. The afternoon session averaged 13 million viewers.

Those were similar to the 12.7 million viewers Friday’s hearings drew on average — down from the 13.1 million posted on Nov. 13, the first day of public hearings.

Though 13 million viewers sounds like a lot, in comparison to past public hearings amplified by the media and the left it shows a dramatic drop in interest on the issue of alleged Trump scandals – as media critic Joe Concha explains:

The 13.8 million people who tuned in on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, CSPAN and PBS marks a 31 percent drop from the number of people who watched former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee in June 2017, which delivered more than 19 million viewers.

The 13.8 million who watched the first day of the impeachment hearings were also two million fewer than the number who tuned in to former Trump personal attorney and fixer Michael Cohen’s testimony, which delivered 15.8 million viewers.

It’s also 1.5 million fewer than the number who tuned in to the first Democratic debates, which didn’t have the benefit of being on most of the major broadcast networks and all of the cable news networks.

Just what might be the cause of the viewership freefall? Two words:

Impeachment fatigue.

As evidenced by the two videos below (which have been in circulation for several months now), the mainstream media, liberal commentators and their Never Trump pals have alleged “bombshells” and “tipping points” and “walls closing in” and “the beginning of the end” for three years now. As a result, a growing number of people no longer believe them.

Watch the media/left/Never Trump “bombshell/tipping point” chorus continuously stirring the pot and whipping viewers into a frenzy over and over again over what ultimately ended up to be nothing and you’ll get a good idea for why people are fed up and tuning out:

The below video was done in the aftermath of the “bombshell” Buzzfeed report that wasn’t back in January:

One Twitter user described the first montage as “One big conga line of buffoonery.” I couldn’t agree more.
