VIDEO: Kamala Harris Gives Embarrassing Blank Stare When Asked About Her Jussie Smollett Tweet

Democratic candidates for president continue to stumble when asked about the Jussie Smollett issue while on the campaign trail.

Yesterday, I wrote about Sen. Cory Booker’s non-answer after he was asked about his thoughts on reports the “Empire” actor staged the incident. The New Jersey Senator’s newfound respect for waiting for the facts stands in contrast to his rush to judgment the day of the “attack.”

Democratic Senator Kamala Harris (CA), another 2020 contender, was asked Monday about the new details that have emerged in the Smollett case and if she wanted to revisit her original tweet (below) on the matter.

Here’s the response she gave:

Transcript via Fox News:

“Which tweet? What tweet?” Harris asked. As the reporter specified the tweet in question, Harris appeared to look around for a campaign staffer before responding.

“OK, so, I will say this about that case,” she said. “I think that the facts are still unfolding, and, um, I’m very, um, concerned about obviously, the initial, um, allegation that he made about what might have happened.

“And it’s something we should all take seriously whenever anyone, um, alleges that kind of behavior, but there should be an investigation,” Harris added. “And I think that once the investigation has concluded then we can all comment, but I’m not going to comment until I know the outcome of the investigation.”

That’s just … embarrassing.

Either Harris isn’t running her own social media accounts or she’s dodging by pretending she didn’t rush to judgment as Booker and so many others did when news of the alleged attack first broke.

In any event, it’s just not a good look at all for the perceived frontrunner. Then again, when you’re used to journalists turning into fashion consultants for you, you’re probably not expecting any tough questions…
