Just in the last week, I encountered a very liberal individual who was clearly a fan of the ongoing COVID saga, suggesting that we would be much worse off than we currently are, absent the actions of Anthony Fauci, the vaccines, or continued government action.  Almost immediately upon meeting him, he noticed my Gadsden Snake on my hat, which triggered him to suggest that I thought that COVID was a “hoax.”  After discussing what I do for a living, and the endless hours of research I have put in on COVID data and the origins of the virus responsible for the pandemic, he immediately turned to a question I am often asked:  “Why do you think you know more/better than the scientists?”

Instead of answering the question, I simply returned with one of my own, “How do you know they are telling you the truth?”  “I don’t, I guess,” was his response. “I guess I just have to accept they aren’t lying to me. I mean, why would they?”  This seems to be the prevailing answer from the COVID believers, that somehow, St. Fauci and the other high priests of the Branch Covidian cult are incapable of lying, despite the fact that Fauci has, by his own admission, lied, and that I have identified more than a dozen lies he’s told just since May.  I followed up with one final question to him: “If they were lying to you, how would they be acting any differently than they are now?”

After a few minutes of thinking about it and attempting to figure out a way they would be doing things, differently, he again conceded that there likely wouldn’t be doing anything much differently. They would claim to be to sole source of data and information, accusing others of purveying misinformation if they did say anything else.  They would criticize and discredit alternative treatments and suggest those who engage in them are fringe conspiracy theorists.  They would control all of the data, rarely release it, prevent those whom they decide they don’t want to have access to it from getting it, and even go as far as preventing access to that data for years to come.

Several things continue to frustrate me about the narrative about vaccines.  First, is that questioning their effectiveness, in light of clear data that it is nowhere near the 95% with which they were advertised, is considered blasphemy to the COVID cultists.  Secondarily, is that the powers that be continue to pedal full vaccination and boosters as the way to best protect yourself from infection, despite offering no data regarding just how much protection those vaccines provide.  In fact, while there does seem to be some, extremely slight, protection against hospitalization and death, I cannot find any data that supports that the vaccines do anything to prevent you from being infected with the virus.  Lastly, it is that despite these clear issues with the data, government still seeks to implement a vaccine mandate.  That’s right, a vaccine, which doesn’t do what they say it does is a requirement to participate in society.

Yet, while I claim that the vaccine lacks the efficacy they suggest it has, I have never said that the vaccines could make it more likely that you’re infected with COVID-19.  Certainly, there are fringe elements who use rare cases of side-effects as a means of attacking the vaccines, but on the whole, data shows the vaccines to be safe.  However, during a Facebook Live event in March of 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci had something to say about the efficacy and safety of vaccines.  After a question regarding the safety trials of vaccines and asking about rolling out a vaccine that maybe won’t be effective, Fauci answered the following: (video at the bottom)

“Okay, that’s a good question.  The initial safety study, Mark, is to see if I inject it [a vaccine] in the arm, does it have some sort of idiosyncratic or bad reaction.  There’s another element to safety and that is that if you vaccinate someone and they make an antibody response and then they get exposed and infected, does the response that you induce actually enhance the infection and make it worse and the only way you’ll know that is if you do an extended study, not in a normal volunteer who has no risk of infection, but in people who are out there is a risk situation.  This would not be the first time, if it happened, that a vaccine that looked good in initial safety, actually made people worse.  There was the history of the respiratory syncytial virus [RSV] vaccine in children, which paradoxically made the children worse.  One of the HIV vaccines that we tested several years ago, actually made individuals more like to get infected.  So you can’t just go out there and give it, unless you feel that in the field, when someone is getting infected and exposed, being vaccinated doesn’t make them worse.” [emphasis added]

Here is a video of Dr. Fauci stating that vaccines, that do not go through full trials and development (as is the case with the COVID-19 vaccines), could potentially expose the vaccinated person to the risk that the vaccine itself, could increase the severity of the infection.  While again, there have been those on the fringe who have suggested this, no one from credible circles has been leveling this accusation.  At most, they question the efficacy and effectiveness of the vaccines in light of the data that shows there’s no difference between the vaccinated and not-vaccinated.  Even more, studies show you’re more likely to experience severe side effects from the vaccines than you are to be hospitalized with a severe case of COVID19.  From my piece just two days ago, I showed that the CDC’s data shows that 79 percent of identified Omicron cases were amongst the fully vaccinated, despite fully-vaccinated only representing 60 percent of the population.  Even worse, 32 percent of the infected were fully boosted, despite them only representing 16 percent of the population.  In other words, one could argue that being vaccinated makes one more likely to be infected with Omicron. All of the earliest known cases of the new variant have been in fully-vaccinated people.

Yet again, to suggest that the vaccines are simply nowhere near the level of effectiveness they purport is considered anti-science.  Never mind the data.  Never mind the list of fully-vaccinated people we have heard about being infected. And now, never mind the words of the very man whom they foist upon his ivory tower (and the history he detailed) saying that the potential exists that vaccines could make the infections worse.

I’m getting tired of being right all the time.
