A Democrat activist had internal woke alarm bells go off when CNN's Anderson Cooper used the wrong pronouns to identify her at a Bernie Sanders town hall event on Wednesday.
The awkward interaction occurred when Cooper attempted to introduce Grace Thomas, a civil rights attorney based in Washington, D.C.
“She’s a local civil rights attorney. She’s a Democrat. Grace?” Cooper said in his introduction.
Thomas immediately scolded the CNN anchor for daring to refer to her by the wrong pronouns.
“It’s they/them pronouns, actually, thank you,” they/them replied.
Anderson Cooper just misgendered a Civil Rights attorney.

They are not serious.

There are so many reasons that this video clip is hilarious that it's hard to address all of them.
From Cooper declaring "Oh!" in his shocked response to Sanders' befuddled stare as he tried hearing the question, which, having been timed with the scolding the host just received, was a work of art.
Perhaps the best part of it all was Thomas's subsequent question. After chastizing somebody for not getting her fake pronouns right, the activist openly wondered why normal people can't relate to the Democratic party's messaging.
"Polling and turnout data indicate that men of all racial demographics are turning away from the Democratic party, but of course, white men, in particular, do not feel that the DNC's messaging targets them and the issues that they care about," she began.
"Should progressive campaigns craft policies and messaging to better encapsulate these voters, and if the answer is yes, how do they do so without abandoning marginalized voters?"

'Deny Reality': Karoline Leavitt Confirms White House Policy For Pronoun Displaying Journalists
Yep, it's certainly a mystery why people don't feel the Democrat party represents the issues they care about. Your first concern was letting Cooper know that when you look in the mirror, Ms. Thomas, you actually think you see a plural.
"They" is plural. "Them" is plural. You are one person.
Oh, and you essentially answered your own question.
By contrast, the Trump administration has been very vocal about restoring sanity to these types of things. Within days of the president taking office, federal employees were directed to remove pronouns from their email signatures.
The directive cited an executive order signed by President Trump titled "Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government."
The order points to actual science in declaring there are only two sexes recognized by the federal government.
"It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female," it reads. "These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality."

Fact Check: True. https://t.co/fcbwImK9SH
On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that she ignores inquiries from reporters who have made up pronouns in their bios.
The New York Times reported earlier in the week that multiple reporters with pronouns in their signatures were refused acknowledgment by senior Trump press aides.
“As a matter of policy, we do not respond to reporters with pronouns in their bios,” Leavitt told the Times.
