Former Vice President Mike Pence has been chosen as the recipient of the 2025 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for certifying Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election.
The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation announced its decision Thursday, stating that Pence was selected for "putting his life and career on the line to ensure the constitutional transfer of presidential power on January 6, 2021."
Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of President Kennedy, and Jack Schlossberg, his only grandson, issued a joint statement revealing their thoughts on the 2025 award winner.
"Despite our political differences, it is hard to imagine an act of greater consequence than Vice President Pence’s decision to certify the 2020 presidential election during an attack on the U.S. Capitol," they wrote. "Upholding his oath to the Constitution and following his conscience, the Vice President put his life, career, and political future on the line."
"His decision is an example of President Kennedy’s belief that an act of political courage can change the course of history.”

Vice President Pence is a profile in courage — putting country first, he may have saved our republic.

Pence issued his own statement in which he expressed pride over being chosen for the Profile in Courage Award.
“I am deeply humbled and honored to be the recipient of the Kennedy Profile in Courage Award," he said. "I have been inspired by the life and words of President John F. Kennedy since my youth and am honored to join the company of so many distinguished Americans who have received this recognition in the past.”
Several of those "distinguished" Americans in recent years reveal an absolute obsession by the JFK Library Foundation with those involved in fighting Trump regarding the 2020 election, the mild protests at the Capitol on January 6th, and those who tried to drag him down in the ensuing years.
It's basically a case study of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Former Sen. Mitt Romney received the award in 2021 for his vote to convict Trump in the Presidential Impeachment trial regarding the mundane call between him and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and for joining six Republican senators in voting to convict Trump of inciting an "insurrection."
The Library wrote, "As the first Senator to have ever voted to convict a President of his own party, Romney’s courageous stand was historic."
In 2022, they cranked up the election hysteria by choosing an entire bevy of award winners for "defending democracy," which included former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney who helped push the sham Select Committee investigating January 6th.
Two years later, Kentucky Secretary of State Michael G. Adams (R) got the nod for working closely with Democratic Governor Andy Beshear to make absentee voting easier and expand the number of days for in-person voting in 2020.
Oddly enough, Schlossberg posted a scathing critique of Pence on X in the days after the Capitol protest, arguing that the then-vice president was the exact opposite of a "profile in courage."
"Pence and Congressional Republicans have also failed the test of courage," he wrote. "Rather than risk their career or endure personal reprisal, they excuse the President’s and others’ admitted wrongdoing and disgraceful behavior."
Now he's courage personified. What a raging hypocrite.

The former vice president and President Trump have disagreed on whether Pence could have done anything to object to the 2020 election results.
Pence, clearly laying the groundwork for his own White House run in 2022, issued a pointed rebuke of the notion that he could have rejected the electoral votes of some states.
Speaking at a Federalist Society event in Florida, Pence forcefully condemned what Trump had argued.
“There are those in our party who believe that as the presiding officer over the joint session of Congress, I possessed unilateral authority to reject Electoral College votes. And I heard this week that President Trump said I had the right to ‘overturn the election,'” Pence said.
“President Trump is wrong,” he said in a direct denunciation. “I had no right to overturn the election.”
Trump would counter that Pence was little more than "an automatic conveyor belt for the Old Crow Mitch McConnell to get Biden elected President as quickly as possible.”
Why did the Kennedy Library take over four years to award Pence the Profile in Courage Award? The answer is that Trump is back in the White House after that same amount of time, and they need to re-litigate the events of January 6th.
What a clown show.
Pence is set to receive the award on Sunday, May 4th.
