Karoline Leavitt Unloads on Media, Jeffrey Goldberg: ‘Not Going To Be Lectured On National Security’

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt came well prepared to push back on the media's spin Wednesday, launching a blistering attack on left-wing "journalist" Jeffrey Goldberg and excoriating a media that remained silent after Joe Biden's Afghanistan debacle, but now wants to see heads roll over a relatively mundane group chat.

As readers are well aware by now, a Signal text group that included national security officials, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth discussed details of upcoming attacks against Houthi terrorists and accidentally looped Goldberg, editor of "The Atlantic," into the chat.

The Atlantic's release of more text messages early this morning has proven that the scandal the media so desperately wants this to be is, in reality, underwhelming.

Leavitt sought to provide some much-needed context on the man behind the story. A man who brought the public a story about "suckers" and "losers" that would eventually be refuted by numerous officials with direct or indirect knowledge.

"There's arguably no one in the media who loves manufacturing and pushing hoaxes more than Jeffrey Goldberg. Goldberg is an anti-Trump hater. He is a registered Democrat," Leavitt explained. "Goldberg's wife is also a registered Democrat and a big Democrat donor who used to work under who? Hillary Clinton."

Leavitt suggests that the "Signal hoax" can now be added to the "very long list" of stories Goldberg has had a hand in propagandizing.

The 27-year-old press secretary also pointed out that the Atlantic had very specifically changed its description of the group chat messages from detailed "war plans" to less definitive "attack plans."

The subtle change, she believes, is indicative of a concession that the initial story was sensationalized.

"Why did The Atlantic downgrade their allegation about war plans to attack plans?" she asked a reporter. "They're now playing word games because they know this was sensationalist spin from a reporter who is well known for doing this."

"We've said all along no war plans were discussed. No classified material was sent," she added, noting multiple intelligence officials have testified to that fact.

The shining moment was when the press secretary thoroughly excoriated the media and Democrats for daring to suggest some people have to be fired, that some heads have to roll over this overblown story when they sat on their hands during the Biden administration's Afghanistan debacle.

"We are not going to be lectured about national security and American troops by Democrats and the mainstream media who turned the other cheek when the Biden administration, because of their incompetence, left 13 service members dead in Afghanistan and not a single person in the previous administration was held accountable for that botched withdrawal," Leavitt said, seething.

Reporters are quickly learning that Leavitt is not to be trifled with. This isn't some bumbling incompetent who has to 'circle back' for answers or needs a binder of information only to say she has no idea what anyone in the room is talking about.

She's not going to let false stories go unchecked.

Editor's Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie.
