Donald Trump provided a surprising response when confronted with the viral moment between him and Barack Obama at Thursday's funeral for former President Jimmy Carter.
Trump, speaking with reporters following a meeting with Republican governors at Mar-a-Lago later in the day, was asked to comment on the exchange with a man who has consistently denigrated him as a threat to democracy.
The two had a fairly lengthy conversation, which included a moment when Obama let out a laugh and another where Kamala Harris looked on in disgust.
"What were you talking to Barack Obama about?" Fox News reporter Peter Doocy wondered.
While the President-elect declined to provide explicit details, his response was surprisingly playful.

"I didn't realize how friendly it looked," Trump said, adding, "I said, 'Boy, they look like two people who like each other' and we probably do. We have a little different philosophies, right, but we probably do."
Trump revealed that the atmosphere was also positive as all of the former presidents "met backstage" before the funeral proceedings.
"We all got along very well," he added. "Which is good."

This has been the theme of the incoming president's second experience, hasn't it? Following a bruising campaign and a brutal first term in which Democrats relentlessly cast Trump as the second coming of Hitler and did everything they could to imprison him, the tone seems to have shifted.
Even Trump noticed.
"In the first term, everyone was fighting me. In this term, everybody wants to be my friend," the president-elect mused last month.
Does that now include Obama? Not likely. Trump is undoubtedly wary that Barack and company won't hesitate to drag him down at the next opportunity.
Whoa: Lip Reader Exposes What Obama and Trump Talked About at Carter Funeral
And though Trump didn't provide specifics, the New York Post was so enamored with the "bromance" moment that they hired a professional lip reader to try and interpret the conversation.
Their guy came to the conclusion that Trump told Obama the two need "to find a quiet place sometime" to discuss a "matter of importance."
Boring. One imagines Trump joking about it being past "Sleepy" Joe's bedtime or cracking a joke about Kamala's coconut cackle.
Some would prefer to think the conversation went a little differently. Perhaps Trump reminded Obama of the time he jabbed him by saying, "At least I will go down as a president."

Not only will Trump go down as a president, he'll go down as a two-term president who won both times in historic fashion, and only the second ever to serve non-consecutive terms.
We'll probably never know what Donald and Barack discussed. But for one moment at least, the political games dissipated. And Trump seems to be appreciative of the new tone around D.C. these days.
The two will likely meet again in just ten days at Trump's inauguration.
