President-elect Donald Trump, minutes after Kamala Harris posted a video statement confirming that she would certify her own election loss today, took to his Truth Social media platform to celebrate his "great" victory.
The Vice President posted a video to X explaining that she will, in fact, go through with the ignominy of having to certify the election she just lost.
“The peaceful transfer of power is one of the most fundamental principles of American democracy. As much as any other principle, it is what distinguishes our system of government from monarchy or tyranny," a somber Harris explains.
"Today, at the United States Capitol, I will perform my constitutional duty as vice president of the United States to certify the results of the 2024 election."
A sad Kamala Harris says she will go through with the ignominy of having to certify the election she just lost.

It's all because she must save democracy ... or something. And not act like a dictator. Which is clearly a shot at Donald Trump and his supporters. Today is, after all, the anniversary of J6, which Harris and Democrats have celebrated as if it were a national holiday for the past three years.
Harris herself equated J6 to the bombing of Pearl Harbor and 9/11. Her exact quote on the first anniversary:
Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them — where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory. December 7th, 1941. September 11th, 2001. And January 6th, 2021.
Trump is shaking all that noise off, and four minutes after Harris posted her video, he celebrated in an all-caps declaration of awesomeness.
"CONGRESS CERTIFIES OUR GREAT ELECTION VICTORY TODAY — A BIG MOMENT IN HISTORY. MAGA!" he wrote.
And the 47th President of these United States wasn't done teasing the resistance party either. Less than 30 minutes later, Trump also posted an image of the mostly peaceful protest on January 6th.
Kamala Set to Join a Small, Sad Club—Unless She's a No-Show, Of Course
Harris went on to note that her certification of the election is a "sacred obligation," seemingly another shot at Trump supporters who disputed election results in the past.
"This duty is a sacred obligation, one I will uphold guided by love of country, loyalty to our Constitution, and my unwavering faith in the American people," she said.
"As we have seen, our democracy can be fragile and it is up to then each one of us to stand up for our most cherished principles and to make sure that in America, our government always remains of the people, by the people, and for the people."
As RedState's Bob Hoge covered recently, Kamala must now certify the election of a man she called a fascist and demonized as an existential threat to our nation. Got that? She must certify the election of a man who is a "threat to democracy" in order to "preserve democracy."
It's almost like they were full of BS this entire time.
Harris today will certify the election of the man who defeated her, just as Al Gore did in 2001 and Richard Nixon did in 1961.
In an ironic twist, it was Gore who originally denied election results, trying to litigate his way to the presidency in 2000. Guess he was pushing to move America towards that "monarchy or tyranny" Harris was talking about.
