J.D. Vance Is That Symbol of Unity Trump Is Looking For

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump chose J.D. Vance as his running mate Monday, choosing the Ohio Senator ahead of more seasoned politicians and giving a nod to his conservative base.

Sure, there may have been better options for Veep – Senators Tim Scott (SC) and Marco Rubio (FL) could possibly have moved the needle in some demographic voting blocs in the general election – but Vance has one thing that makes him stand out.

He is the very symbol of unity that Trump is currently pushing for.

An assassination attempt over the weekend left Trump just centimeters away from being remembered at a State funeral this week as opposed to making a triumphant speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC).

That speech has been completely scrapped due to the horrific attack which saw 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fire multiple shots that ended up ripping Trump’s ear and injuring him.

The former President told multiple news outlets that the harrowing experience had altered his approach almost immediately.

As a result, he “threw away” an “extremely tough speech” he had prepared for his acceptance night at the RNC and will instead opt for one in which he will “try to unite our country.”

It isn’t unity with Biden and the Democrat party being sought after here. It’s unity within the conservative movement. Vance represents that.

In direct opposition to teary-eyed fake conservative moralists like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, who became so broken by Trump’s abrasive showmanship that they abandoned every conservative principle they ever harbored, Vance is the opposite.

Vance, it is well-chronicled, had significant reservations about Trump’s presidency. He even threatened to back Hillary Clinton in 2016 and called Trump “another opioid.”

Worse, the current populist firebrand and author of the memoir “Hillbilly Elegy,” vacillated on his opinion in a text message to a colleague that he wasn’t sure if Trump was “a cynical a****** like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad” or “that he’s America’s Hitler.”

Whereas Kinzinger and Cheney broke down over Trump since then, Vance instead manned up. He united with the face of the Republican party and has in short order become the strongest voice for the MAGA movement in Congress.

He has swiftly morphed into one of ‘America First’s’ staunchest allies after winning his Senate race in 2022, thanks in large part to an endorsement from the GOP nominee.

Vance has been a vocal advocate for conservative values, particularly on issues such as trade, foreign policy, and immigration. He has shown a willingness to take bold stances, such as suggesting Trump should "fire every single mid-level bureaucrat" in the US government.

Earlier this year, he slammed Ukraine as America’s “welfare client” while publicly accusing them of “executing” an American citizen, journalist Gonzalo Lira.

And the Ohio congressman called out criminal charges against Trump and the court proceedings associated with them as “straight-up election interference.”

Very few members of the Senate have been as willing to take such provocative but righteous stances.

Trump would go on to endorse Vance and joked that his running mate had been “kissing his ass” despite saying very negative things about him in the past.

Vance changed. Vance united behind the President. He is the living symbol of unity championed by the late happy conservative warrior, Andrew Breitbart.

During an incredible speech at CPAC in 2012, Breitbart encouraged conservatives to get behind the Republican candidate no matter who is chosen.

“Anyone that’s willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker,” Breitbart told the crowd.

“And if you’re not in that bunker because you’re not satisfied with [a certain] candidate, more than shame on you!” he added. “You’re on the other side!”

Trump was chosen. It’s time to get in the bunker alongside him, folks, as he is (quite literally) fighting and willing to die for his country.

Trump noted Vance’s willingness to unite behind a true pro-America agenda.

“As Vice President, J.D. will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our Troops, and will do everything he can to help me MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

On that, they are united. On that, we should all be united. This ticket embodies the very unification of the conservative movement that is going to usher Joe Biden out of the White House in 2024.

And it is that unity that will be required to save this country.

Trump-Vance is the only choice in November. It doesn’t matter if your guy or gal didn’t make it on the ticket. Up off the sidelines and if you must, help carry this unified movement across the finish line.
