The Great Benghazi Butt-Fumble - If The US State Dept Were An NFL Franchise

Sometimes professional sports provide us the perfect metaphor for the utterly Darwinist and unfair world into which we all are hurled at birth. Those who do well, work together. They go all-in like brothers-at-arms and never accept less than the best. We can watch what transpires for the rest below.

The end result of such tomfoolery is loss of one’s status and livelihood. Results matter, money talks, bull-bleep runs the marathon. You must deliver if you want the pay-wad. If you loaf, you learn the hard way what St. Paul meant in 2 Thessalonians (3:10). That is what is right. That is what is good in life. On the other end of the spectrum we get the US State Department.

Mark Sanchez’s butt-fumble resulted in a defeat in a high-profile sporting event. Nobody died. Nobody outside of a Vegas Gambling House lost their livelihood. Yet Sanchez was punished for his clown-show screw-ups and serves as a warning you can point to when you want your own children to get their defecation back into sequence and do things carefully and effectively.

The Benghazi Butt-Fumble was no laughing matter. The fumbles on this play didn’t just end the playoff hopes for a team of overpaid professional athletes. Four people died, ten more left in the meat wagon and our nation was rendered a laughingstock. Yet nobody is getting fired. Nobody is even getting demoted after this raging hemorrhage of a fuster-cluck. The autopsy for this unmitigated failure follows below.

The mandatory State Department internal inquiry into the deadly Sept. 11 terror attack on a U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi, Libya, slams bureaucrats for “grossly inadequate” security but says that poor leadership could not be punished under department regulations.

Imagine what the New York daily newspapers would say if the NY Jets ownership had the following to say. “Last Monday against a losing Tennessee Titans franchise that has already started cleaning out it’s lockers and shopping for Christmas, we gave up a 94 Yard touchdown run to a sub-par has-been of a running back due to poor defensive planning and a total lack of communication and effort on the field. Then with the game completely on the line, we turned the ball over on last three possessions. But internal team regulations wouldn’t let us hold our starting QB accountable for the fact that he can’t walk and chew gum without falling over and getting the gum in his (bleeping) mustache.” You don’t have to imagine. I’m sure you’ve all rented Escape From New York.

So why do we put up with this from our Federal Government. How did we reelect this pathetic platoon of munchkin-punching mongoloids? How bad was Benghazi (even for Buffalo Bills fans laughing at my highlight clips)?

The report blames inadequate security at the mission on “systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies at senior levels” of State Department headquarters, where officials turned down repeated requests from diplomats on the ground for more security, both at the embassy in Tripoli and in Benghazi. The failures, at State’s Diplomatic Security and Near Eastern Affairs Bureaus in Washington, left the diplomatic post with security “that was inadequate for Benghazi and grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place,” the report states.

All right! That does it!

RANT We may not have effective leadership at the State Dept. They may not listen to their ambassador when tells them Pre-Modern barbarians are trying to (BLEEPING) KILL HIM! This may be because of management deficiencies (at senior levels even) and because of the fact that our security personnel went ON STRIKE BEFORE THE ATTACK and we didn’t do Jack to fix this situation. But we wouldn’t want to, you know, FIRE anybody. That would cause too much butt-hurt. People’s resumes would look bad. You know, like Chris Stevens’ resume – now that he’s dead and you have to DIG HIM THE (BLEEP) UP for an interview you troglodytic schmucks! RANT OFF

America will die as a nation if our government is this incompetent and unwilling to properly take responsibility and punish crappy performance. The butt-covering might as well be shovels of dirt thrown on the grave of a once great nation. This will kill us regardless of the ideology or policy being attempted. Incompetent people, like evil ones, ultimately kill anyone who has to rely on them. If the US government were even being run with the professionalism of a losing NFL franchise, heads would roll in condign fashion. This is why government should be trusted to actually govern something as infrequently as possible.
