GOP Rep. Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) helped blaze a trail for Republicans and conservative Latinos in South Texas with her 2022 victory in the Lone Star State's 15th Congressional District, which had previously only ever had Democrat representation in Congress. 

She won reelection more handily in 2024 against her previous general election opponent, Michelle Vallejo. But this time around, her Democrat opponent is a Tejano singer named Bobby Pulido, a two-time Latin Grammy award winner who won the March Democrat primary against emergency room doctor Ada Cuellar (no relation to Rep. Henry Cuellar).

Though Mr. Pulido would like to bring the district back into the Democrat fold, he's got an extensive and problematic social media history that is already coming back to bite him as the general election campaign season gets underway.

It's hard to know where exactly to start with this one, but let's go with the most recent revelation, which happens to be a music video unearthed of Pulido from 2010, which shows him repeatedly imitating a man who... pleases himself under a red blanket. In other parts of the video, Pulido leans on homoerotic themes:

In a music video for his song “Dias de Ayer,” Pulido pantomimed as multiple characters including an exhibitionist, who wraps himself in a red blanket while repeatedly masturbating and even exposing himself to a woman while apparently on a private jet flight.

The singer noted [at the time] that his father was surprised to see him act as a gay character and that media outlets “started circulating that kind of rumor, which isn’t true, I can swear on the Bible that I’m not” — something he appears to have actually done to try to put the rumor to bed.

In December 2025, it was discovered that Pulido apparently has a porn fetish:

As you read all of this, keep in mind this very relevant piece of information: Even with an extensive social media history that was publicly available for review, Pulido was "heavily recruited" by Democrats to run in this solidly conservative district.

While Pulido is trying to run as a border-securing "moderate" against De La Cruz, it may not be enough to overcome the disturbing images from the music videos and what some have described as "creepy" online postings about the sexual subjugation of women.
