Dan Crenshaw Suffers Stunning Upset in Texas GOP Primary: ‘Enjoy Unemployment’

Crenshaw has long had a strained relationship with conservatives who view him as embedded with establishment Republicans due to his strong advocacy for U.S. foreign aid to Ukraine and interventionist policies often labeled as "neocon," not to mention his opposition to rolling back vaccine mandates.

Video Emerges of UCSF Administrator Threatening to Kill Critic of Child Trans Surgeries

UCSF must address this threat publicly and decisively. Silence would send a chilling message. It would tell parents across the country that institutional elites are so invested in this ideology that they will tolerate intimidation to protect it.

The Energy Squeeze China's in Over Operation Epic Fury Is Just a Foretaste of What Is Yet to Come

About half of China's oil passes through the Straits of Hormuz, so Iran's threat is a lot less than credible unless China wants to reprise the role of Cleavon Little taking the sheriff hostage in Blazing Saddles.

Trending Across Townhall Media

Bearing Arms — Giffords and Their Inability To Provide All of the Relevant Facts

See, the problem for Giffords and the rest of the gun control crowd is that reality doesn't conform to their worldview, so they have to omit and lie in order to make it appear that it does.

HotAir — Suspected Drone Attack on Sanctioned Russian LNG Tanker Sparks Serious Concern UPDATE

More analysts are leaning toward the drone attack explanation for the explosion and subsequent fire, and attributing it to the Ukrainians (EOS Risk is a UK-based group.).

PJ Media — If This Is True, the DNC Has a Moral Earthquake Coming

The DNC sold itself as a champion of migrants, but "compassion" without reins left kids preyed upon. Federal cash meant for care allegedly lined the pockets of criminals. Leaders touting ethics must explain their epic oversight flop. Belief in political integrity slips when evil like this thrives unchecked.

Townhall — Watch Jasmine Crockett's Absurd Speech to Her Supporters After Losing the Texas Senate Primary

Also, the election denialism peddling, or as liberals would say, inciting armed rebellion, is pervasive here from Crockett.

MORNING MUSING

Politics ain't beanbag. Elections have consequences. There are innumerable clichés regarding politics and elections. And Heaven knows, there are far too many times when my preferred candidate doesn't succeed. It sucks. So I do empathize with those who lose their races. But...some? Maybe not quite as much.

Jasmine Crockett's rise to political fame has carried some added interest to many of us here in St. Louis, given her ties to the area. (Maybe relief that she took her politicking elsewhere.) Her defeat in the Texas Democrat Senate primary to State Rep. James Talarico may not spell the end of her political career. But I do get the sense that the bloom may be off the rose. Maybe I'm overly optimistic here, but are we starting to see a shift away from the influencer-as-politician success model?

As indicated, I think it's likely premature to write Crockett off altogether (politically). But for now, I'll simply say: Byeeee!!

LIGHTER FARE

This is an orange cat. My bet would be there's a follow-on video in which he figures out how to overcome the "cat-proofing."
