There are no formal meetings/hearings scheduled for Monday on the Hill, but the Senate is set to convene in the afternoon and hold a vote on the motion to invoke cloture on the Housing for the 21st Century Act at 5:30 PM Eastern. In the wake of Iran's retaliatory strikes, there will be enhanced security measures in place at the Capitol.
Fox is told that there will be “enhanced security measures” at the U.S. Capitol beginning tonight and tomorrow because of concerns about terrorism in the wake of the Iran strikes.

We saw a handful of decisions from the courts over the past few days, most of them unfavorable, though there was one bright spot out of Florida.
- ❌ In Castanon Nava v. Department of Homeland Security (immigration enforcement/settlement), Judge Jeffrey Cummings (Northern District of Illinois) GRANTS plaintiffs' motion to enforce.
- ❌ In M-J-M-A v. Wamsley (habeas), Judge Mustafa Kasubhai (Oregon) GRANTS plaintiffs' motion for preliminary injunction and motion for class certification.
- ❌ In U.H.A. v. Bondi (habeas), Judge John Tunheim (Minnesota) GRANTS in part/DENIES in part plaintiffs' motion for preliminary injunction.
- ❌ In State of Washington v. Dept. of Education (denial of federal grants) 9th Circuit DENIES admin's motion for stay pending appeal.
- ✅ In Van Schaick v. DeSantis (immigration detention facilities) Judge Robert Hinkle (Northern District of Florida) GRANTS defendants' motions to dismiss (for lack of standing).
The Supreme Court continues hearing oral argument on Monday, this time in a key Second Amendment case:
- United States v. Hemeni – Whether 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(3), the federal statute that prohibits the possession of firearms by a person who "is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance," violates the Second Amendment as applied to respondent.
