On Monday night, a leading congressional Democrat claimed that President Donald Trump had caused a “consistent spike in the violence when it comes to politics.”
I know that this is what the rest of the Democrats, the left, and the MSM want everyone to believe. Because they have virulent TDS, any political violence must be caused by Donald Trump. Because Donald Trump is the devil, and anything that's wrong today must be his fault.
Now, I have written about this topic endlessly. The Democrats/MSM have been inciting their base into complete insanity and even violence in their determination to win political offices. As a result of their propaganda, large numbers of people I know personally, including family members, are completely unable to have normal conversations, i.e., non-angry scream fests, with me or any other Republicans who disagree with them politically.

But I don’t think I am going to let this particular Dem get away with her projection today. We know who is really “causing” this violence, don’t we? Let’s go through the acts of political violence we have seen during the past decade:
- On June 14, 2017, a “Bernie Bro” gunman named James Hodgkinson walked onto a baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia, opening fire on politicians practicing, almost killing U.S. House Republican Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, and seriously wounding four others. Before he started firing, Hodgkinson checked to make sure the House members playing baseball were Republicans.
- On July 13, 2024, Thomas Crooks, a young man who was virulently anti-Trump – a fact hidden until recently from the American public by the FBI – grazed Donald Trump’s ear with a bullet at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Crooks did, however, kill rallygoer Corey Comperatore and seriously wound David Dutch and James Copenhaver, who were sitting in the bleachers behind Trump.
- On September 15, 2024, Ryan Routh, another individual who hated Donald Trump, attempted to assassinate Trump at a Trump golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ryan Routh hid in bushes and pointed a semiautomatic rifle with a scope at Trump, who was about 400 yards away.
- On January 28, 2025, U.S. Capitol Police arrested Riley English on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., after she approached officers and revealed she was carrying a folding knife, two Molotov cocktails, and a lighter. English said she intended to kill senior U.S. officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, whom she described as a “Nazi,” House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. She also expressed a desire to attack the conservative Heritage Foundation.
- On July 4, 2025, eleven leftists attacked the ICE facility in a “planned ambush” in Alvarado, Texas. The individuals dressed in black clothing were equipped with tactical gear. They initiated the attack by detonating fireworks and spray-painting anti-ICE graffiti on vehicles and structures outside the facility. When a police officer responded to the scene, an assailant positioned in a nearby wooded area opened fire, wounding the officer in the neck. Meanwhile, another individual reportedly fired 20 to 30 live rounds at unarmed ICE correctional officers outside the facility. The assailants had hoped "to kill ICE corrections officers," according to law enforcement officials.
- On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist, was assassinated by a left-leaning young man in a relationship with a trans “woman” with a furry fetish who supported Joe Biden. Kirk was shot through the jugular while addressing an audience on the campus of Utah Valley University in Utah. The outdoor event was the first stop of the American Comeback Tour, a speaking and debate series planned by his organization Turning Point USA, where he hoped to debate and educate college students and young people.
- On September 24, 2025, Joshua Jahn climbed on top of a building and fired at an ICE field office in Dallas, Texas, fatally striking one detainee and wounding two others. Jahn was found dead at the scene of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The outcome was an apparent failure of the suspect's intent, which authorities believe was to kill ICE agents and spare any "collateral damage or injury to the detainees.” The collected writings of Jahn described a desire to inflict "real terror" on agents carrying out the Trump administration's deportation campaign.
Now, I suppose said congressional Dem is technically correct that Donald Trump was a “cause” for all this mayhem. After all, he exists, is president, is doing things, and is a conservative and Republican. But that is “but for” cause only, as any lawyer will tell you. The “proximate cause” of these incidents is that they are being committed by left-wing perpetrators who have decided it is open season on their right-wing or Republican opponents.
And that is the “cause” that really matters.
And all these disturbed individuals have been spun up by the Democrat elite, like Jasmine Crockett. It’s the Democrats' fault, and they deserve the blame for what they are doing.

The “Death of a President” was a 2006 British mockumentary film by leftists about the fictional assassination of President George W. Bush. The film was presented as a future history docudrama and used actors, archival video footage, as well as computer-generated special effects. The mockumentary claimed that because of the assassination of Bush, the evil Vice President Dick Cheney (RIP) instituted a terror regime post-assassination. Many American leftists loved it.
