In response to a report from the Washington Post that Trump’s National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster is the next person to be replaced, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted out a carefully worded denial late Thursday.

Just spoke to @POTUS and Gen. H.R. McMaster – contrary to reports they have a good working relationship and there are no changes at the NSC.

Of course, that’s the common refrain we’ve heard before almost every precipitous departure from the White House during this administration. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson we now know was fairly blindsided by his firing earlier this week.
