Three Democrats who ran in the primary for Texas’s 16th congressional district aren’t taking their loss to Veronica Escobar, who won the Democratic nomination, lying down.
Former state representative Norma Chávez, Enrique Garcia and John Carrillo filed a lawsuit against the El Paso County Elections Administrator Lisa Wise for fraud.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs “generally contend that an election officer or other person(s) officially involved in the administration of the election, including Lisa Wise, engaged in fraud or illegal conduct … to wit tampering with the initial programming of some of the hard drives before the election began and distributing those hard drives to high-producing voting locations to extract votes from petitioners for the benefit of Veronica Escobar.”
The best part? The lawsuit provides no proof of where and when any election fraud took place by Wise or Escobar.
There’s nothing quite like people who can’t accept they lost fair and square. There has to be something or someone else to blame. So, even though they have no proof of anything happening, they just feel it in their bones something caused them to lose.
I mean, even good conspiracies have some facts behind them which lend the conspiracy a scintilla of plausibility.
Ah, well. Never say politics isn’t a spectator sport.
