In Republican Roy Moore’s non-concession speech, he and his spokesperson both said they would be seeking a recount and would be speaking with the Secretary of State of Alabama immediately.

Notably, Merrill told a CNN reporter, “I’m not very comfortable speaking to Judge Moore or anyone from the campaign tonight.”

Merrill also said he didn’t expect the outcome to change should there be a runoff.
