We had so much fun with the visit of Freddy, the World Cup tourist.
He bid us a farewell on July 23, thanking everyone for the "trip of a lifetime."
So long, America🫡🇺🇸

49 days ago we landed in the USA to follow our country at the World Cup. We had no idea it would turn into the trip of a lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who followed along, and to all the people we met who made this journey even more special. We honestly don’t have the words to express how grateful we are for everything you did for us.
This trip exceeded every expectation we had. We came here with an open mind, wanting to experience as much of the country as possible. I still remember telling my friends on the flight to Atlanta that I hoped we’d get to meet a few locals on this trip. Now we’re flying home with friends all across the USA.
Before we came, we heard so many stereotypes and warnings about America. People told us about safety concerns, that they might check our social media at the border, and all kinds of other things. None of it matched our experience. This was probably the most welcoming country we’ve ever visited.
The world isn’t nearly as bad as the media often makes it seem, he said. “If you want to hate the world, watch the news. If you want to love it, travel it."
"Thank you, America," Freddy said, adding a heart and an American flag.
Because many people have been asking us about it: Our favorite states from the trip were Tennessee, Alabama, and Texas. Our favorite town was Fairhope, Alabama, and our favorite food spot was Taco Bell.

Freddy returned home to Hamburg, Germany. He said he would be posting a video collection of highlights at some point. He posted a video of Hamburg and said if people visited, to hit him up.
If anyone ever happens to visit Hamburg (second biggest city in Germany actually) feel free to message me on IG, me and my friends would love to show you around😁

But he enjoyed things so much he wasn't going to be able to stay away. He announced they're planning on coming back in the fall, in September or October. He said while they were going to have a road trip with college football as the main focus, they wanted to check out other sports and "unique American events." He asked people for suggestions about where to visit/what to check out at that time.
We’re planning another USA trip this fall!🇺🇸

It’s going to be a road trip with college football as the main focus, but we’re also planning to check out plenty of other sports and unique American events.
The idea for this trip actually came from our visits to a few colleges on… pic.twitter.com/TjMLfH2298
So far we have these on our list:
- Oktoberfest in Helen, GA
- Texas State Fair
- Breeders' Cup in Kentucky
So he may have more fun views of America coming, and we're here for it.
