The liberal media truly are ridiculous.
President Donald Trump told jokes about them at the White House Correspondents' Dinner (WHCD). It's literally a traditional part of what the event is supposed to be about.
Yet the liberal media doesn't seem to be able to handle it.

For example, one of the people Trump roasted was CNN White House reporter Kaitlan Collins.

"She’s a young, attractive woman. She never smiles,” the president said.
“I said, ‘Kaitlan, do you ever smile? Smile. You have a nice position, you’re at CNN fake news, you should be a happy person. So smile, Kaitlan, just smile.
“I thought Kaitlan had really made it big with a major new sponsorship,” he said, “but then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can, it was Dylan Mulvaney.”
But the left and the liberal media freaked out. People Magazine even called it a "transphobic" attack.

But many on the right made a great point: How is that a "transphobic attack"?
Trump said Collins was "young, attractive," and compared her to Mulvaney, who she does, in fact, resemble.

How do you believe that is an insult — unless what the liberal media is saying is that Dylan Mulvaney is not "stunning" and "beautiful"?

As Katie Miller, podcast host and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller's wife, noted, Trump never even said Mulvaney was transgender.

So it's hard to argue that's "transphobic."
If anything, it was a compliment to Mulvaney on some level, since Trump called Collins "young, attractive."
Collins posted on her Instagram (among pictures of the WHCD) a saying from Eleanor Roosevelt, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." She did not mention Trump in regard to that post. But again, unless you're seeing something wrong with the comparison, that "feeling" is with you — who Trump actually called "young, attractive." And is she saying being compared to Mulvaney/trans person made her feel "inferior"? Again, then the problem seems to be hers.
The media seem to be throwing any principles they were claiming on the matter under the bus when they have this kind of a response.
But since the only principle the liberal media ever seems to stick to is attacking Trump, they don't appear to care that this position doesn't make a lot of sense. They always manage to have a bad reaction and expose how deficient their positions are.
The media also doesn't seem to care about the hypocrisy of their attack. It's the White House Correspondents' Dinner — Trump is supposed to roast them. That's been the norm for years. Meanwhile, the media in general has been viciously attacking Trump for more than 10 years, reporting all kinds of false things about him and calling him all kinds of names. How many derogatory things have we heard over that time, including incredibly divisive things like Russia collusion? But that was all good, I guess, because they're the media. They think they can say what they want.

But Trump will say what he wants and even double down on it, to make that point. He's not going to be inhibited after all the years of media coming after him.
He posted a meme on Truth Social on Sunday that further took off on the comparison and referenced Mulvaney's Bud Light ad miscue, using an AI image of Collins' face.
