World Cup Freddy Finally Makes It to the White House

So the amazing road trip of Freddy, the World Cup tourist from Germany, is coming to an end, now that the World Cup is over. He's given us a lot of entertainment and a great view of our own country for our 250th birthday.

When last we left Freddy, he'd been in Tennessee and Kentucky. He took in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and one of his buddies even got to ride a mechanical bull (he got tossed).

Then he hit his 25th state, West Virginia, and blasted "Take Me Home, Country Roads" - the song of America for this World Cup.

When Freddy started heading back north again, I had an inkling where he was going, since there was still one big item on his agenda that had been discussed but hadn't happened yet.

On Tuesday, Special Presidential Envoy for American Tourism Nick Adams confirmed it, tipping off that Freddy would be hitting some of the highlights of Washington, D.C., including a trip to the White House.

Freddy and the crew were picked up in a black SUV and taken to the U.S. Capitol, where they got to see the Speaker's Balcony.

Then they were off to the Washington Monument.

The lunch was at a "historic venue" with tomahawk steak, beef tallow fries, onion rings, and chicken wings, plus "the coldest domestic beer our capital has to offer," according to Adams.

If you click on the avatar picture in his Instagram, you can see some of the videos. Freddy saw the "people mover" in the Capitol, the inside of the Washington Monument, views of the Department of the Interior, and had a great view of the Jefferson Memorial.

They capped off the trip by visiting the White House. What was nice was that you could see how they were wearing new dress shirts so they could be respectful in the "People's House."

Freddy said they went out to TJ Maxx to buy them to make sure they were dressed appropriately.

"We got to see the Oval Office, the Presidential Walk of Fame, and much more," he explained.
