King Charles III did a couple of things during his visit to the White House on Tuesday that probably aren't going to make his liberal Democratic buddies happy.
It looked like Charles was trying to save the "special relationship" with the U.S., which had hit a serious bump in the road after the U.K., specifically Prime Minister Keir Starmer, failed to be supportive of Operation Epic Fury against Iran.

Charles appeared to be doing his best to smooth things over. He made a good effort with a special gift that he gave to the president.

CHARLES: "And should you ever need to get hold of us, just give us a ring!" 🤣🔔 pic.twitter.com/aISXK6oCXw
The King gifted Trump the original bell from HMS Trump, a British submarine launched in 1944 that served in the Pacific during World War II.
“Tonight, Mr. President, I am delighted to present to you as a personal gift the original bell,” Charles said, noting it “may stand as a testimony to our nation’s shared history and shining future.”
He then added with a smile, “And should you ever need to get hold of us… just give us a ring,” prompting a warm reaction from guests.
That's pretty cool. Charles has more diplomatic understanding than Starmer ever will. But if we give you a ring, you have to answer it. The "special relationship" is a two-way street. Translate that into real action that helps us.
Charles was in his joking element.

"And I'm sorry to say that we British, of course, made our own small attempt at real estate redevelopment of the White House in 1814."
Charles wasn't done yet. He also praised the president for the courage and "steadfastness" he showed during the White Correspondents' Dinner shooting.

To think — this angers the left.
“May I also just start by paying tribute to your own courage and steadfastness, as well as to your security services for their swift actions on Saturday evening in preventing further injury."
"My thoughts and sympathies are very much with you, the First Lady and all those guests, for whom this must have been a very upsetting incident."
Pray for 47!
That was also a classy, respectful moment to show concern. Trump showed remarkable calm and presence in his reaction and in his care for others.

Charles' efforts will likely be helpful to the relationship, but to persevere, they need to stand with us now, as well.
