We reported on Monday that the anti-ICE crew was putting up "checkpoints" at intersections to check for ICE vehicles to prevent them from passing.
They claimed they were running the license plates of cars to see if the people were ICE. They were confronted by the police about their actions, yet the police didn't clear them out of there, which was crazy.

Then, Daily Caller News Foundation journalist Jorge Ventura was assaulted when he went to investigate the situation. Ventura said they had been stopping vehicles, asking for IDs.
So they were upset about ICE, which is acting according to the law, but they don't see the hypocrisy of their own actions as they stop people, while masked and checking who the people are, to screen who's coming into their neighborhood.

Ventura said his hand was even bloodied when he was assaulted, and that his photojournalist was also attacked.

But now there's been a development in the wake of that incident.
The police finally took some action.
"The Public Works team — with assistance from the Minneapolis Police Department — cleared debris and homemade roadblocks yesterday," the department said. "Given the high-traffic and high-speed block of roadways on Cedar Avenue, the city cleared the streets to ensure public safety for the neighborhoods and emergency vehicles."
They cleared out the checkpoint at 32nd and Cedar. The anti-ICE folks were ticked, claiming the police "collude" with ICE and "stole" their barricades. No, they're clearing the street of your unlawful checkpoint.

"Community defenders." Yeah, no.

They claimed the police were trying to "demoralize them," when in fact, the police should have acted much earlier.
They want us to be demoralized but keep in mind: blockades are cheap to set up + not meant to function around the clock. It takes almost no effort for people to set up another filter blockade. But this strategy will only work if we keep building momentum w more blockades. (3/3)

Can we laugh at how funny that is? The account says it's in the Netherlands, but they have a VPN, so I suspect they are in Minneapolis, just using the VPN to shield themselves.
They said that it would take almost no effort to set up another "filter blockade," and they need to build momentum to have more of them. It's so dumb, and then the police can rip it down again. ICE can just take a detour around them. So all they're doing is likely annoying people who have to go through the area, which will turn them off from the anti-ICE effort.
