Clintons in Big Trouble on Epstein Subpoenas - Their Response Is Something Else

If you know Bill and Hillary Clinton, you probably could have guessed that they weren't going to comply with subpoenas to testify in the Jeffrey Epstein case before the House Oversight Committee.

They'd already missed previous dates, and now, Bill Clinton just missed the rescheduled appearance slated for Jan. 13. Hillary Clinton was scheduled for Jan. 14.

The Oversight Committee Chair, Republican Rep. James Comer (KY-1), confirmed the no-show:

"I think everyone knows by now Bill Clinton did not show up. And I think it's important to note that this subpoena was voted on in a bipartisan manner by this committee," Comer told reporters after formally ending the deposition.

"No one's accusing Bill Clinton of any wrongdoing. We just have questions. And that's why the Democrats voted, along with Republicans, to subpoena Bill Clinton."

The Clintons' attorneys made it clear they were challenging the subpoenas. They claimed in a letter to Comer that the Clintons had already provided what they knew and that the "[T]he Subpoenas issued to President and Secretary Clinton are invalid and legally unenforceable."

The Clintons themselves also wrote a letter to Comer that the New York Times obtained. The letter is vintage Clinton, trying to claim they were standing up to the tyrannical government, throwing in things about masked federal agents seizing people, and even an "ICE agent killed an unarmed mother."

Shameless:

“Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences,” the ex-first couple wrote to Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), according to a letter first reported by the New York Times.

“For us, now is that time,” the former first couple added.

Even for the Clintons, this is particularly audacious, cannibalizing all the false Democratic narratives to help support their efforts to avoid testifying. They're not avoiding appearing because they don't want to testify; they're avoiding it because they're such brave, principled people. The gall here is something else.

If, in fact, they knew nothing, all they would have to do is show up and answer the questions. So why don't they want to do that? For starters, Bill Clinton would have to go on the record about a host of things, including photos of him with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The pictures show exactly why he should be testifying.

Comer Unloads New Details on Clinton Depositions in Epstein Probe

We knew this was coming, so now it's up to Comer - and he's saying he's going to take action.

"We will move next week in the House Oversight Committee … to hold Bill Clinton in contempt of Congress," Comer said. He wouldn't say if they would pursue Hillary yet because she isn't scheduled to appear until Wednesday. But she probably will also be a no-show, so that's likely coming next.
