This Breakdown Shows Just How Catastrophic the Redistricting Battle Could Be for Dems

After a redistricting plan passed in Texas that most people believe will help Republicans, Democrats decided to engage in their own redistricting battle and make a move to get more seats in California.

However, the problem with that is that it's a battle that they likely can't win, as CNN explained in this clip, because Republicans have more redistricting possibilities if they go all in.

"Florida could be a gold mine! [...] EVERYTHING left over is an advantage to the Republicans!"

You can see that leaves the Republicans with at least five more seats, according to that assessment, not even counting Florida, which CNN said could be a "gold mine."

And as they point out, that's before you get to the change that may come, depending upon the Supreme Court case dealing with the Voting Rights Act. SCOTUS was hearing oral arguments on that on Wednesday. If the Court decides to do away with race-based gerrymandering, CNN notes that the Democrats could lose 19 seats. That would be catastrophic for them, almost ensuring that the Republicans would continue to control the House. The Democrats have been pinning their hopes on being able to take back control in 2026 and then trying to damage President Donald Trump with endless investigations as they did in his first term.

Politico is saying the total number could be as many as 27 seats.

Taken together, the groups identified 27 total seats that Republicans could redistrict in their favor ahead of the midterms — 19 of which stem from Section 2 being overturned.

Now this shows what a bad move it was for California Gov. Gavin Newsom to engage in the battle. I think he did it to appeal to the leftist base for his own personal political gain in 2028. He wants to be president, and that's his primary concern.

So even if Newsom were to win the battle in California, the Democrats could lose the war nationally because of him. That would be some kind of karma if Newsom were responsible for the complete loss of Democratic control for the foreseeable future.

Not to mention, this is already on top of Democrats being historically unpopular and having no winning policies to offer. When all you're known for is embracing illegal aliens and hating Trump, it's not exactly a winning strategy.

Keep digging the hole, Democrats, it's just getting deeper.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
