Scott Jennings, Others Wreck Neera Tanden After Her Attack on Trump Over Ukraine

Part of the problem that the American people have with Democrats right now is that they don't seem to live in the real world.

A tweet from Neera Tanden exemplified that. Tanden is presently the president and CEO of the Center for American Progress. Before that, she was a domestic policy advisor to Joe Biden and the director of the Domestic Policy Council. She was also a former senior advisor and staff secretary to Biden.

Tanden was trying to attack President Donald Trump on X. I think it's fair to say it did not go well.

Trump losing Ukraine to Russia would be one of the most profound demonstrations of American weakness in modern American history. And that is the course he has set us on.

Russians kill Ukrainians every day with impunity.

There's so much wrong there.

First, let's review some history. Who was in charge when Russia invaded Crimea in 2014? Hint: it wasn't Donald Trump. It was Barack Obama. His response was weak.

Then, early in his presidency, Biden lifted sanctions on Nord Stream 2. Then there was the infamous garbled "minor incursion" comment, where Biden appeared to be indicating it wouldn't be a big deal/might not earn a big response if Russia made a "minor incursion." That screamed weakness. I think Vladimir Putin looked at that, how much Biden botched the Afghanistan withdrawal, and how weak Biden's boss had been, and decided he would roll the dice on an invasion.

Notice when Putin didn't invade Ukraine — in that period between Obama and Biden, when Trump was president. It wasn't until Trump that Ukraine got Javelins.

Then let's note Ukraine is not ours to "lose," even if Democrats seem to think so.

Biden probably would have been content to pour out our money forever. It was Trump who stepped up with real negotiations to end the war, another difference in strength and action. The only weakness here was from Obama and Biden.

Then, too, this isn't the topic I'd like to be hearing from Tanden on; I want to know what she knew about Biden's cognitive decline.

Things did not go well for Tanden in the replies. She was inundated with people reminding her of history, including Matt Vespa of Townhall and senior CNN pundit Scott Jennings.

Jennings reminded her about Biden's weakness.

Bottom line? She can't argue away history.
