Watch: Joy Reid's Jaw-Dropping Remarks on How US Would Fare in a War With Canada

Both CNN and MSNBC have been trying to save their ratings by overhauling their programs and firing some of their hosts.

That may have factored into why both Don Lemon and Joy Reid got the boot from their respective networks.

Now this week, they were stuck together trying to prop each other up when Reid went on Lemon's podcast and said something so ignorant, it had people on X rolling their eyes and laughing. The real question here is how any network could have employed such a person for so long who obviously has such issues.

First, she claims that we lost the War of 1812, which isn't really historically true, it was considered a draw.

Second, that was Great Britain, not Canada, who we were fighting. Canada didn't actually become a nation until 1867. So Joy needs some serious work on her history.

Third, we're helping to protect Canada now; we're not going to war with them. Just another way in which they are dependent on us.

"They probably like their chances against us [in a war]," she crows. "We're not going to beat them in a war, because we have never been able to do that...We going lose!"

What the heck? Does she have any idea how silly that sounds? How far superior we are militarily now on every level? Not to mention vastly outnumbering them in manpower? There's a reason Canada has us helping in their military defense.

Reid also claimed Canada had as many guns "per capita" as we do. Again, what the heck? Does she not know what that term — per capita — means? Perhaps she's confusing it with percentage, thinking they have a bigger percentage of people with guns. But either way, she's wrong, and the bottom line is we have more guns, and we have a greater percentage of guns than any country in the world.

Lemon just sits there laughing and not correcting the idiocy, so he's apparently right on board with it. But why would anyone listen to anything Reid has to say when she clearly has no idea what she's talking about? If she is that ignorant about something so obvious, this may explain why she has been so wrong about so many things for so many years.

Then, too, isn't that like a leftist that she seems to be thrilled with the idea of the U.S. losing a war?

Is there any wonder she's reduced to jawing with Lemon on a show that people will only see in clips to mock?
