Grab Your Popcorn: House Dems Freak Out Over Schumer Caving, Urging Him to Change Mind

At this point Democrats don't seem to know which way is up, and the House Democrats don't seem to be on the same page at all with the Senate Democrats.

As we reported on Thursday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) caved and said he would be voting for the House stopgap continuing resolution. He did that in the face of reported division and screaming after a lunch meeting with Democratic senators where there were some who didn't want to go to a government shutdown. Translation? He probably knew there were enough defectors.

But now that causing some Democrats to flip out about this decision, particularly in the House. They were upset that Schumer didn't go with a 30 day CR to kick the can down the road which likely would not have passed in the Senate.

Check out the glorious breakouts -- they can't take that the CR is good for America and Republicans are leading that charge.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries put out a statement expressing their displeasure.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez posted a rant and said Senate Democrats could still change their minds.

Immediate former DNC Chair Jaime Harrison also was flipping out.

Schumer went on MSNBC and explained that going to shutdown would give President Donald Trump more of a free hand.

AOC showed she didn't understand what Schumer was saying.

"I cannot underscore enough how incorrect that is," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., said of Schumer's argument. "What voting for this CR does is that it codifies the chaos and the reckless cuts that Elon Musk has been pursuing, the robbing of our federal government in order to finance tax cuts for billionaires is what is happening. And that is what Senate Democrats will be empowering if they vote for this CR."

You even got a fit from Susan Rice, "WTF?  @SenSchumer please grow a spine. And quickly." She must be so upset Democratic power is just imploding.

Republicans need eight to get the CR through, because Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is a "no." If Schumer stays with what he says and Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is with him, that's two, and likely there were more which is why Schumer caved.

So hold onto your hats. It's likely that the House snit is just a final freakout and the CR is going through, but we'll have to see if it makes anyone flip. But as I said, it just shows the two chambers are not on the same page at all.
