CNN Panelist Smacks Down Absurd Hot Takes on 'Elon Email'

It's quite something to see some of the fits the Democrats and the liberal media have been throwing over federal employees answering a simple email from the OPM about listing five things they did last week.

As DOGE chief Elon Musk noted, it's basically a pulse check to see if the person being paid is there. It might take all of five minutes to fill it out. Yet the left has now spent days complaining about it, saying how onerous it is. That points to a big problem right there.

CNN had a panel discussion on the topic, with Ana Navarro claiming that such an email was "abusive."

But it didn't sound like some on the panel even understood what was in the email. Another panelist, Tara Setmayer, claimed if you got a message from "someone who was not your boss" that if you didn't answer, you were considered "resigned." But it wasn't actually from Elon Musk, it was from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and there was nothing about considering it a resignation in the email (although Musk made such a comment in a post on X when he announced that such an email would be coming).

But as commentator Scott Jennings explained, "The White House is every federal worker's boss." Jennings explained that it was a test to see if you were even paying attention — are you even at your terminal?

Abby Phillip then suggested federal workers might not have access to their emails over the weekend.

That's when Jennings just had enough with the tantrums over this.

“The amount of outrage, melting down, and sort of an outpouring of emotion over this ought to tell you everything you need to know," he said.

"We had a lady on CNN today, a supposed federal worker who said she was infuriated by the getting this e-mail. She had time to go on CNN, but she didn't have time to send a 30 second email saying, here's what I was working on last week. This is what people in the private sector have come to hate about how they view the public sector."

Jennings explained that yes, it was about control and "finding out who is at their job working and who isn't, and do we need all these people." Apparently, there's even a concern that there may be people drawing a salary who aren't really there actually working. Jennings has a tough job to have to deal with such continually bad left-wing takes.

All that was asked was to list five bullet points of what you did last week. If a person can't do that, then he wasn't doing much to begin with and maybe he shouldn't have a job with the federal government with the American taxpayers paying his salary.

The meltdowns make it seem like the folks at CNN never had a regular job and weren't ever held accountable for their work. This is a pretty sad reaction. This just adds to the need to clean the government up if there are issues with something so simple.
