According to his father, Barron Trump had a big part in encouraging him to go on podcasts that helped to win him the election in November. Having proven his electoral chops in helping get his father elected, 18-year-old Barron is now attending NYU, a hop, skip and a jump away from his home in Trump Tower in NYC.
He's likely going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
If you ever wondered if Barron was like his dad……..😂🤣 pic.twitter.com/7R4xnEc2Ys

But Kaya Walker, the president of NYU’s College Republicans of America chapter, got into trouble for a comment that she made about Barron. Walker told Vanity Fair, which was doing a piece on Barron at college, that he was “sort of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes home.”
Walker got a lot of backlash, including from the national CRA leadership, who called her remarks "inappropriate" and against “the values and principles upheld by our organization.”
“Though Vanity Fair and The Independent unfairly framed what was said, upon review, we still found it to be inappropriate,” they continued. “The NYU chapter President submitted her resignation last night.”
CRA president Will Donahue then made a pitch for Barron to join their organization.
“Barron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement and we would be honored to have him join College Republicans of America,” Donahue said in the statement.
Interestingly, while there were some who were bothered by the comment on X, most of the folks on the right reacting on X didn't seem to agree with this move. Many thought this was going too far in having her resign over this, not seeing the comment as particularly offensive, just a comment on how Barron comes in and goes home, as opposed to others who do not.
Absolutely absurd, of course he’s an oddity on campus. Anyone with any level of celebrity would be an oddity, she shouldn’t have to have resigned for stating an obvious truth. Incredibly dumb https://t.co/8denluCwUh

It was a strange remark, but having to resign over it is ridiculous and devoid of common sense. https://t.co/rTCJ5YtMYx

Many observed this seemed a bit like the left and how they reactively cancel people.
Bottom line? It's likely in Barron's best interests for his own protection to be careful about what he gets involved in at school because there are going to be all kinds of people who want to get close to him for all kinds of reasons. Unfortunately, he's not going to have a regular experience just because of who he is.
That's a challenging thing for an 18-year-old, but Barron seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders and seems to be dealing with it well so far. The comment from Walker in some ways seems to confirm that. I'd be a little worried if he was more involved in a lot of the wild things that people do in college.
