Sen. Kennedy Punctures the Dems' Wild Ranting About USAID With the Real Question They Should Be Asking

Democrats have been losing their minds now that the Trump administration, with Elon Musk, the DOGE team, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have been putting USAID on the grill and have stopped the gravy train of money flooding out the door.

They were trying to paint the DOGE folks as an "unelected" coterie who were somehow gaining access to data, yet not seeming to care at all about the blockbuster things the DOGE folks were finding had been done by "unelected" bureaucrats at USAID. There were even violent and ugly threats against the DOGE crew after WIRED magazine identified some of them. The acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia warned he would not tolerate this, and now law enforcement is looking into these threats.

You even had Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) reveal that she was threatened when she started looking into USAID some time ago and how money was being spent through it in Ukraine. That's crazy. So it's been a problem for a while and it's long since time that they be held accountable.

No, DOGE isn't random private citizens having access to the data. It's the already-established US Digital Service that President Donald Trump renamed DOGE. It's a unit/department that is part of the Executive Office of the President. So when Democrats or people on the left make that spurious argument, they're essentially trying to argue that the president doesn't have a right to control the executive branch, and that's ridiculous. The real problem is the people objecting/trying to block DOGE from doing their job. But Democrats frequently don't make sense when they lose control of things, and that's why they're losing their minds here.

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) punctured their anger and their pomposity with a little reality during an appearance on Sean Hannity's show on Monday.

He noted it was "kind of cool" to have a president again after four years of a mess.

Kennedy explained how he liked omelettes and he could eat omelettes at every meal. "I like omelettes better than sex. Um, not really, but you get the point — I like omelettes. But you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs."

He said Trump ran on a promise of reviewing "every single penny" in the federal budget, "Now how are you going to review the spending in the federal budget without reviewing the spending?" Hard to argue with that. "And that's what Mr. Musk is doing."

"Now, many of my Democratic colleagues and some of the tofu-eating wokeratti at the USAID are screaming like they're part of a prison riot because they don't want us reviewing the spending. But that's all Mr. Musk is doing, and he's finding some pretty interesting stuff. To my friends who are upset, I would say, with respect, you know, call somebody who cares...They better get used to this. It's USAID today, it's going to be Department of Education tomorrow."

Kennedy said for four years under Joe Biden, that these people asked one simple question, "Who needs to pay more in taxes?" "Well, that's not the question that the Republicans and President Trump are going to ask," Kennedy explained. "Our question is, 'What the hell happened to the money?'"

Exactly, and that's why Democrats are flipping out — because, finally, all of this is being unraveled. And it's pretty damn glorious.

Kennedy said if he were Musk, he'd put it all in a book, call a press conference, and walk through all the ridiculous spending, line by line.

They won't defend it...because they can't, he concluded.
