NEW: Fetterman Gets the Media Going With 'Appointment' He Wants From Trump

I have to admit when I wrote about John Fetterman when he was running for Senate, I was pretty brutal.

He certainly has exceeded any possible expectations I could have had for him as a Democrat in the position. I feared a deep progressive. Instead, he has operated at least in his remarks as more of a moderate, pushing for coming together on issues with Republicans, a rare thing it seems these days with most of the Democrats just out of their minds with far-left craziness.

Fetterman even indicated he's going to be supporting some of President Donald Trump's nominees for his administration. As we reported earlier, he cosponsored the Laken Riley Act and he indicated he would be voting in favor of Sean Duffy, Trump's nominee for Secretary of Transportation. Duffy's confirmation hearing will be January 15.

Fetterman made it clear he was going to be his own man and "no one is my gatekeeper." He said he would be even visiting Trump in Mar-a-Lago to have a conversation.

But that wasn't enough for the media. They pursued him to his office in the Senate and pressed him on the news about visiting Mar-a-Lago. Fetterman was a bit exasperated with their pressure, "What are we talking about here?" and so he shot back with a joke.

"I demand that I need to be made Pope of Greenland," he quipped.

NewsNation's Joe Khalil rolled with it, asking if Fetterman had the resume to be Pope. Fetterman said he was just going to talk to Trump.

Translation? There's no big mystery, it's just a conversation. He said he wasn't just the "Senator for Democrats" but senator for "everyone in Pennsylvania." Now that's a great response but it seems few Democrats think like that, particularly when they insult Trump supporters. Fetterman's attitude is the way it's supposed to be.

But of course, it's causing some on the left to melt down. How dare he actually be civil and talk to "Hitler" for the betterment of the American people? The left can't think along those lines because it's always about the insane agenda/attempt to control things. They just can't let go of the attack narrative.

People had thoughts and pictures.

But Fetterman might have one problem with being Pope to Greenland. It's really cold there and I think he would have to wear long pants. So he might not get the appointment.
