HOT TAKES: More Walz Gun Follies, Great Memes, and Scott Jennings Just Decimates Harris Campaign

The video from Tim Walz's pheasant hunting excursion was both scary with how he handled a gun -- I thought he was going to hurt himself or others -- while at the same time being hilarious. This is supposed to be a guy who claims he is a hunter, and that he and Kamala Harris both own guns so you could trust they weren't going to run all over your Second Amendment rights. Uh-huh. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

This was just pitiful, as Will Cain points out. It's not just that it's funny or dangerous; it exposes that once again they tell us one thing about him, and the video shows he has no idea what he's doing:

So much for him carrying "weapons of war."

The memes were just great.

This was supposed to be helping the campaign's problem with men. Instead, it made everything worse. It's not a good look when everyone is mocking you.

CNN commentator Scott Jennings pointed out how this was part of a "rough week," and how they were down in numbers with men, including African-American men:

"The gender gap issue is real. It's a real problem," he said. He explained that the Democrats seemed to just be realizing this now in October. "A lot of men think that Democrats care more about dudes who want to become women than dudes who just want to be dudes...And no hunting cosplay or cringy videos are going change it. The bed is already made."

He said working-class men don't believe that the Democratic Party and Kamala Harris are going to do a thing for them. "They've been told they're the problem, and I suspect they're going to rise up on Election Day and tell the elites, who told them that, they're wrong."

Exactly. Who is going to buy any of what this team is selling at this point?

Walz didn't fire his gun and he didn't shoot any pheasants. It was all about the photo op. Not only did he have most men (and most women) laughing at him over his handling of the gun. he managed to make it worse with this follow-up about "pounding" Diet Mountain Dew:

Again, he is mishandling the gun. And every hunter has an assistant ready to pop out of the grass to hand him a Mountain Dew, right?

This guy is something else. But he's helping to further expose how ridiculous this campaign is.
